What does everyone use for the kids clothing?
We have always packed DS stuff with ours but after our last trip last month I am done with that.

I dont want cheap kids luggage but also dont want a HUGE HUGE bag
I want something that can also be used for weekends(with obviously a lot of room) but big enough for week long vacations

I have my eye on 2 pieces from Pottery Barn but was wondering what everyone else uses

Thanks for the help

DH packs for myself in a mid-sized suitcase. DD is 12 and packs for herself in a sturdy rolling suitcase ~ mid-size. I pack for DS6 and myself in a ginormous suitcase. I bring a backpack on the plane with valuables. I also have a duffle bag with gifts for my kids ~ one for everyday and LANYARDS AND PINS! S

Oh yeah ~ we are also bringing DS6 life jacket in a backpack and will check it. S

we usually borrow my dads 5piece luggage set that includes.the large(27inch expandable),medium(25in expand) ,small(22inches) and carry all with wheels.it seems to be working great for us,,so far
as for weekenders i bought her a weekender duffle bag,,

i'm using the medium suitcase, dd is going to get the next size down and i'll put our one days and nites stay in the carry on,,since we are staying at a hotel before we get the timeshare

i also used packed dd's with mine,,but dh said he would rather carry two smaller bags than the one large bag,,makes sense to me,,,she is really excited about having her own suitcase too!! and i can really see how much i pack for myself,,LOL

i forgot to say that my dads luggage is samsonite and gets ALOT of usage!!! and it is still in good shape!!!

I just bought my kids a suitcase each (medium sized) (These were 20 bucks each at xmas tree shop!!!) I will have them roll those, and check them. Then each will carry a fanny pack that they will take on the plane, and then into the parks each day.

I will pack a large suitcase, and a medium sized duffel that I will check, and then my backpack will come on the plane with me. I will also pack a large unused duffle bag for souveniers on the way home.

My son has a large rolling backpack (Thomas the Tank Engine of course) that he uses. I found a personalized Lillian Vernon backback for DD on ebay at a good price.

Walmart also had rolling pilot cases in blue and pink for $10.00. I know you said you didn't want cheap, but I do think pilot cases are a good idea.

DD has matching Barbie backpack (also for school) and rolling pilot case that I purchased from Target. She visits grandparents about once a month, so we get a lot of use out of them. I'm a great packer; I can get a week's worth of clothes and accessories in a pilot case (and not have to wash anything). DD's entertainment goes in her backpack. I also pack an extra duffel bag in my pilot case for souvenirs. Everything is small enough to carry on, and nothing has to be checked since we're still at two bags per person!
