we have booked the DDP for our trip and having reviewed (exhaustingly!!) every menu of every place pretty much it seems we have a dilema ....

as has been said on here before the kids menu's at the counter service - and some table service - destinations are limtied to mac and cheese, chicken strips and apple sauce!! well my kids for one will do that for one day and then be pissed! breakfast counter meal looks a much better bet that they will eat.

so - my question is, we are going to use the counter service meals to have breakfast, where they will eat the same every day and they like it, table service in the evenings, and for lunch in the parks I want to take their sandwiches they like.

so - is there any place inside Disney where you can buy bread, ham, cheese, margarine?? so I can do their sarnies for them??

Pretty sure that there is not place that you can buy that type of stuff.. you would have to go off park or get them delivered

Most hotels due have a small amount of food for sale in there shops, if you don't mind Disney prices. If your hotel doesn't have what your looking for you can try the Trading Posts at FW. I think the Hess station also has a C-store.

I think you might be surprised with the variety and amount of food on the DDP if you are creative. Adult portions are huge and very easy to share. You could let the kids use the CS for breakfast and then share the adult CS at lunch with all of you. Snack credits are also great for breakfast and can be used for some lunch item (fries for example) Many places we found willing to do subs too. I would give it a try before going to the trouble of making and keeping cool in the park those sandwiches. You can also pick up fruit , bagles etc using your snack credits and have those sort of things for lunch too. We are good eaters and we spent 0$ out of pocket with the dining plan bringing almost no food from home.

I agree with MsSandra. You can even get a kids meal and an adult CS meal and share the two. Each have half a burger and a few chicken fingers, some carrots, and some fries :) I actually found (especially in hot weather) that the kids meals were more the size I wanted and ended up throwing a lot of my CS meal away. (No way would DH share, LOL!)

thats good to hear - I have found that researching the "kids menu" options on CS for lunch really are very very poor. My kids eat as soon as they wake so waiting to get stuff in the parks is a no go but love suggestions of picking up bagels in the afternoon/evening etc.. using snack credits and using that for their breakfast the next day. We're typical UK eaters .... and find the US portions HUGE so I'm hoping the CS will be enough to share as I'd love to have that extra cash to spend on Disney stuff rather than waste on food portions we just cant eat ontop of the DDP.

At the food courts there are nice choices for a quick AM breakfast. At pop they had nice bowls of fruit, ceral, all sorts of muffins, pastries, etc. You can get a whole bag of doughnuts for one snack credit but we are used to krispy kream and did not really care for them. Juice can be gotten with an snack credit as well.

We aren't big breakfast eaters, so I just pack a couple of boxes of breakfast bars or granola bars in our suitcases. That way we can eat them on our way out in the morning (no wasted time battling a food court time). We eat an early lunch on the DP because we need as much time as possible to digest all that food before our dinner!
