Kids first visit Dining Review 6/2-6/9 YUMMY!COMPLETE

Well first let me say I had every intention of taking pics of the food but it did not happen With trying to get two 6 year olds food and to sit it just didn't happen. But we did have some realy great meals

In our party were ME,DH, my sister, and my two 6 year old dd's(one very picky) I had heard so many horror stories about bad food or having to wait long after your ADR time and was very happy for the most part about everything. We always checked in early and were seated right at or before our time, we never waited more than 10-15 minutes after we checking in so that was great. Some of our times were early(start of dinner) so that may have made the differnce but with 2 kids that are used to be in bed at 8pm I did not want any meltdowns with being overtired(they did great)

Food Court at POR
We arrived, checking in then went to food court for lunch. I thought was a fair amount to choose and it was good. All the adults had burgers and the kids had chicken nuggets. I would say normal park type fare. I thoughgt it was all set up well and our bellies were full!

Crystal Palace Dinner
After luch we headed to MK and then to our 5:15 CP dinner. We were all very excited to have our first character meal. We were all very disapointed with the food My dh will eat anything and even he said he didn't care for it at all. Character were good and we took our pics but I would not go back for dinner anytime soon. I would try the breakfast next time.

Cosmic Rays lunch
We wanted to get out of the heat so we chose this place,dh and I have eaten here before. Again adults had burger abd kids had chicken nuggets. I like the topping bar for the bugers. I had lettuce and pickles on mine. It was good, again standard park fare and we all cooled off for a bit. I was super crowded since it was the start of lunch and we realy had to search for a table. I finally saw some people moving and grabed it quick!

1900 Park Fare dinner
We checked in and then had our pic taken, I guess this is new since alot of people said they have never seen this. We were seated in teh corner, kind of out of the way, not great but it was ok. Food was better than CP but I would not say great. The desserts were realy good though,little chocolate mouse cups,mini cheese cakes, and mini key lime pies The best part of the meal was the strawberry soup Can I saw yummy!!! This should be a dessert, it was so good I want some now! We loved the characters. The step sisters were funny and one took a pic with my dh after I told her he thought she was beautiful. Even though the food wasn't the best there was things we liked and would go back for sure!

great reviews thus far, cant wait to hear more!!! CP is wonderful for breakfast, i cant compare it to dinner because my DH and I only do buffets for breakfast because buffet dinners scare us!! We've done CP, Chef Mickeys, and Boma all great breakfast buffets!! As for cosmic rays i hate that its always crowded and ive always had to fight for a table as well!!!

Sci-Fi Dine in Lunch
I have heard so many bad food stories about this place but it was great! Our ADR was at 11:10, early but we just had breakfast in out room so we were ready to eat. We were seated promptly and got in our "car" The theme of this place is so fun. My girls thought is was funny we get to eat in a car. Our server was the best we had EVER, not just in Disney, I mean ever!! She was super nice and got us everything we needed. She gave the girls their drivers licence and told them they might have to drive us home. You MUST get a milkshake here, and it was on the dining plan so go for it. We all had oreo cookie ones,AWSOME! I can't remember what my dh had for a meal but he loved it. My sister and I had the same thing, a smoked turkey sandwich . It was huge and so fresh and yummy. I realy enjoyed it. Both girls had mac and cheese and ice cream for desert. Adults all had peanut butter choc cake, it was ok but the server put candles on both mine and dh's since she saw our Anniversary buttons on and had a bunch of them sign a card for us. So sweet. I would absolutly eat here again!

Yak & Yeti CS Lunch
I wanted to try something different so we had out luch at the counter service part. My sister ened up going somewhere for a buger(she is picky) but DH and I had honey chicken, it was so good. It was served in a take out container. White rice on bottom, then carrots and broccoli, then the chicken. I was happy I ordered it. Kids had chen nuggets again


50's PrimeTime diner dinner
Again, people either love this place or hate it....we LOVED it! Another fun theme and realy good food. Seated promply again at our 4:35 ADR(early but we had a early lunch so worked out great) Even though it was early is was packed. We didn't get the table with the tv since we were 5 people I guess, I was sad but it was fine. My dh got yelled at for putting his elbows on the table and my sister was told to mind her business when she tried to look at the shakes..lol Here is another great place for shakes. You MUST try the PB&J shake...yummy, yummy,yummy. Can I say more. DH had the fries chicken,he loved it. Sister had meatloaf and said it was excellent. I had pot roast, I was unsure about ordering this,it's not something I would normally order at a resturant but I saw pics and it looks good. I am so glad I did, I loved it!! The meat was so tender you could pull it apart with your fork. Kids had mac and cheese again. Desert was Smores fro me and sis and dh had a browning sunday, all good

Ohanas dinner
We got over the the Poly and it is so nice...I realy want to stay here next time. We had a 5:10 adr and when we got there,there must had been 50 people waiting in line to check in..I thought"oh no" we will be waiting forever on this one. Nope we only waited about 15 minues. This was our favorite meal we had a Disney. I was so good!!! First was the bread and then came noodles,salad(great dressing)chicken wings,pork wontons and broccoli. Then came the meats..beef(awaome) turkey(so moist)pork(was OK) and shrimp. I don't eat shrimp was dh and sis loved them. We were so full and then cam the bread pudding. It was not as great(imo) as people say but it was good and maybe I was just too full. This is a must place for us next time around!!!!

Thanks for the reviews! Now I'm scared about Crystal Palace though. We've gone for breakfast before but all they had available was lunch reservations. Hopefully it'll be better food when we go!

Sunshine Seasons lunch
I was really wanting to eat in one of the countries fro lunch but everyone was hungry and we were right there. One dd had mac and cheese(big surprise) and the other had a ham sandwich. All the adults had turkey sandwiches on some great bread. It was pretty good and sanwich was huge.

LeCellier dinner
Another realy good meal! Dh had prime rib and said it was great. I had the filet with no mushrooms and instead of risoto I had the cream cheese mashed potatos. I was excellent! The meat was so tender and the mashed were yummy. Sister also had the filet but with the mushrooms, loved it. I can't even remeber what the kids had..probally mac & cheese again!lol Oh and I had a cup of the chedder cheese soup, it was good but the best part was the pretsle bread...it was the best, warm with a hint of salt. For desert I had the chocolate mouse(see pic) It was so good and cute! Sister passed on dessert she was too full. Dh had Maple Creme Brulee and he loved it. I will eat here agian for a great steak!

Chef Mickey's breakfast
I tried for months to get a ADR here and finally 2 days before we left I was able to get a 9:55am ressie(so don't give up if you can'r get what you want)
I figured with as hard as I tried it would not live up to the hype but we LOVED this place. We were seated within 2 minutes of checkin. The buffet was huge and food was really good. I had scrambled eggs with cheese,bacon,corn beef hash with a corn bread topping,watermelon,cheesey hashbrown cassorole, homefries, breakfast pizza(this was good!)and french toast. I think that's everything I had. My kids had hard boiled eggs, bagel, mickey waffles, bacon and sausage.YUMMY!! The character interaction was great, they all came to our table and took as many pics as we wanted. We paid OOP for this meal since we wanted to try so maany places and even though it's pricey for breakfast the food was so good and it's work not having to stand in a HOT line to take pics with the most famous characters! I would love to try dinner next time.

Wispering Canyon Cafe dinner
The wilderness lodge is very nice, I would not mind staying there either! Our ADR was at 5:15 and we were seated about 15 minutes after checkin. My sister got a steak wich was Ok. DH and I got the skillet. DH liked it but I thought it was just ok. The best park was the brisket, that was very good. We all had the botomless milkshake. Dh and I had chocolate, they were not as good as Sci-fi or 50's primetime but they were good. My sister had cotton candy first and then bubble gum,she loved them. You can change flavors with each refill so you can try as many as you like! I tried to get my sister the "big" drink but it was a no go but they were bringing out the ketsup bottles when people asked for them. our server was very funny but kind of disapeared for a time. The whole resturant did a short version of the hocky pokey and both girls did the stick horse races. It was fun but I think it is one the those"been there,done that" places. I would like to go back for a breakfast. All in all I say it's a fun place for kids and try it out.

First I want to talk about a couple of snack we had at MK

DOLEWHIP
I am not a hugh fan of pineapple, I like but but I went with the orange one and it was so good!!! I Did try my sisters pineapple one and it was realy good too, like a fresh pineapple taste. You must try it.

Next was a Cream cheese filled pretzle. I was not sure if I would like this and one of my dd's wanted one and she is VERY picky, we both realy liked it! Try it out

T-Rex lunch in DTD
This was our last day and our flight was not leaving until 6pm so we went to DTD and had a lunch ressie at 12:30. We checked out a few store then the kids went to Build-A-Dino. They had gift cards from their b-days so we thought now was a good time to use them. We checked out the gift shop and then the girls went to the dig site area. They get little brushes and try to uncover dino bones. Both my girls love this stuff and it is FREE!! Even better. I noticed around noon time there was a long line of people so I told DH to go checkin since I was not sure how they worked things at this place. They gave you a slip of paper and it told you what time you would be seated by. So we checking in at 12:00 and we should be seated by 12:18. It was about 20 minutes before we were seated and the longest time we waited all week(not bad) I would say the food was pretty average and just as expensive as the other places. My sister and I split 2 apps, nachos and buger sliders. They were both good. DH had fried shrimp which we liked. The kids had mac & cheese AGAIN!!!lol I realy think you are there more for the decor then the food but I found the food fine. We sat in the fish area with the tanks. The ice roon seemed popular but I don't think I want to sit in a room with a stange blue hue and it changed to red when the meteor shower happened every 20 minutes. I think you would be fine sitting anywhere. We just walked arounf and took pics while waiting fro the food. It was fun.

Great Reviews, a lot of our choices as well. What did the girls have at LeCellier? My dd's are 7 and 9 and I'm hoping they will have something good to choose from....
