At Epcot -Land pav - I saw tucked in a corner kids baking cookies - tell me about this - how much$$? how do you reserve it? is it fun?

saw on food network kids in 1of the hotels baking desserts---how do I find info on this?

I know @ one time there was some all day chef thing for kids - not sure if that's what the resort offers - though dd would Love it I DO remember it being a small fortune (like $200!!!)

Just wondering what else if out there I may be missing...........

The Epcot thing is sponsored by Nestle and at scheduled times kids line up to bake cookies. It doesn't cost anything you just have to be there at one of the "show" times. My boys loved it - they get a chef hat with their name on it and they each get a job to do. At the end they all get a cookie.

The thing you saw on the food network is probably at the Grand Floridian. I can't remember the name but you sign up for it and there is a fee. Haven't done this one so I can't help anymore. It might be Grand Adventures in cooking??

The great thing is that its free!! and the kids get to eat cookies at the end. The bad thing is my DD12 was too old this past year. She got to do it when she was 11 the year prior along with my son who was 7 this past year.

We got there early and decided to wait for the next session. We sat in the seats (all 4 of us) and waited patiently and nicely. We were the first ones there. Then massive amounts of kids started coming over and the parents and kids were obnoxious. My son almost didn't get to do it because they limited how many kids and they didn't have a fair way of having the kids come over that were there first. I really think they should have a line with ropes so that the kids who are there first go in and are in line. There was no one there till it started so they have no idea who was there first. I would have been a little sad to wait 45 minutes and have him not get in because of some obnoxious kids and parents. Luckily he was the last one let in and he had a ball.

The show on the foodnetwork called Unwrapped was filmed at the Grand Floridian and is part of the Mouseketeer Clubhouse program that is like a childcare service but its a club where they can play.

Oh yeah its in the Land. Hopefully they still have it since they redid the land area. We were there last Nov right before they closed it down.

The one at the Grand FLoridian is called Grand Adventures in cooking. You need a PS and it's about $30. The kids are there about two hours. I have my three signed up for it this July, it's the only GF kids activity they haven't done yet.

The cookie baking was definitely still in the Land in May when we were there. I do agree with the PP that there doesn't seem to be a way for the kids to line up. We got there 15 minutes before a show and the previous one was going on, there was nowhere to stand and wait because all the parents were watching their kids. We decided to walk around until the next show. When we came back (maybe 2 minutes late) the next crew was in there washing their hands so we missed it.
Gook luck, it looked really gute! :wizard:

Is the Mouseketeer Club Grand Adventures in Cooking available to all guest resorts, or just those at the Grand Floridian? My 7-year-old nephew saw the program mentioned, and would really like to do it, but we're staying at the Pop Century.

It is open to all. There are other activities. My kids are doing the Pirate Cruise. pirate: I believe each activity costs about $30 and run about 2 hours.

Check on the Family Board too. Lots of info over there. Allears.net also has lots of info.
