Ok, I am in a fight with fabric glue and ribbon and they are winning lolol

The fabric glue is turning blue because of the denim and its getting everywhere ahhhhhhhh

I am attempting to make the ribbon shorts from post #1281.. I am doing in with white, orange and blue ribon. I am trying to get them done for Wed. My husband is surprising out daughter with tickets to a NY Mets game. I also have a shirt with the mets logo that says My first game.

I figured the colors of the shorts could also go with a nemo themed shirt for out trip:thumbsup2

wish me luck :lmao:

Hmmm, sorry to hear about your glue issues! :scared: It might be a little late, but what about washing the shorts first to get rid on the extra dye? What kind of glue are you using? I used Liquid Stitch from Walmart, but I didn't have any problems with the the denim bleeding. :confused3

Sounds like they're going to be really cute!

Ok, this is my first attempt at Disney custom anything and I'm pretty proud of it! I made one for dd2, dgd2, dd6 & dd8. The older ones will wear black leggings with theirs, cause they are size 4t. I didn't even have to take the bow off the dress, my ears slid snugly under it.

The hair bow is my first ever, and it's not even attached to a clip yet, it's in her hair w/a bobby pin! Walmart didn't have any, so dh has to go get me some tomorrow. Our nearest Hobby Lobby or anywhere like that is 50 miles!!

Here's an up close of the "applique" It's been heat n'bonded, but not sewn yet.

Here's what I made (copying one from earlier in the thread, but with modifications) for Animal Kingdom. The bucket hats were $1 at Target, as soon as I saw them, I knew what to do with them. I still have to stitch down the ribbons on the capris, have someone sew the appliques (maybe change the bow), and attach red bows on the ears on their hats. Can't you buy tiny bows already made? I hope so!! I just couldn't wait to show you these!!

I made these for dd2, dgd2, dd6 & dd8. The ears are furry, I used leopard (front and back) and tiger (on sides) on the hats.

I liked the ribbon loops on shorts, but we thought this looked better for capris.

hi - this is a great board!!! i'd love to try many things - twirl skirts, pillowcase dresses, shoes and flip flops - !!!

if you have any pictures for a beginner, i'd love to see them!!! im working on 2 minnie outfits right now - got an iron on from the creative designs thread - then i got some red knit shorts from kmart and some black flip flops from old navy - ok - now where do i go with this???? lol!!! HELP!!!!!

:rotfl2:

oh, what is a corker ribbon - and can you buy them???

I just saw US Navy fabric at Walmart a few days ago, and it seemed like an OK quality. You could use that to make the dress, then applique the word Navy on the leg of the jeans, add a ruffle and be done!

Yeah, I will try that. The reason we go to the game is because my grandfather played football at the Academy in 1945. My oldest son wants to go there too. So I'd rather have something more based on the academy. That is why I was thinking along the lines of the goat. But I do like your idea of an applique down the leg. What do you think of GO NAVY on the front, and on the butt BEAT ARMY. My grandmother would love it. If anyone has ever been to one of those games, the ribbing is all in good fun anyway. No losers truly. I am going to look for some fabric. I think I've seen yellow stars, and maybe anchors somewhere too.

Deann (tnmom25) here are pictures of the appliqued Cinderella I just finished...sorry in advance if these are huge!

Hi you are all so talented you inspired me to do something of my own. I did this all by hand, because I do not have a sewing machine right now. I still have to applique around the designs. What do yo

I think that would be adorable! And remember you could always add wording in that theme to a sweatshirt too if you wanted to...I saw anchors at Hobby Lobby, and I am pretty sure stars would be no problem right now, with all of the fourth of July fabric out there! Good timing!

I have been trying to get photos to upload almost all day. I don't know what's going on. Anyway, this is a dress that I bought for my daughter for our cruise last year. It's a DCL dress, and I love the applique of the ship and Tink. It's not a home made one, but I think I might try to copy it.

Oh My!!! If I was going on a cruise, I would definately want that applique! The crusie staff would go crazy for that!!!

 What are you talking about??!?!?! I would never copy someone else's designs! :rolleyes1 ::yes::

Kiddin', Tink. Yes, that's the one that sold for almost $400. Not bad, hey?

Here's a few more views of it:
