Did anyone go look at that auction??/ I love the back "If the shoe fits"

If any of you guys are sending out postcards, pleas know that it is better to mail the postcard in an envelope. It costs more, but get "there" so much faster! something I learned when traveling as a kid.

You know, I NEVER understood why women thought Kenny was attractive...... UNTIL I saw that picture!

He might be a little short and balding(hey he is usually wearing a hat anyway), but definitely a HOT body!!! Some great eye candy that I am adding to the thread!:goodvibes BTW I like his music too!:lmao: Actually I have had a few people PM and tell me they were adding that pic to their sig or avatar too. WOOHOO!:thumbsup2

Two things -

1. I went to JOANNS! What a treat! I had to drive 3 hours to get there (out of town for the weekend), but I LOVED it! I looked at fabric for over an hour and a half! I spent WAY too much money! I LOVE that place!

2. Everyone that has decided to add the design to the siggy, well, you guys just made my day! It really does my heart good to scroll through these posts and see that design. I feel like I was able to contribue something. Thanks!

I'll try to keep up this weekend. If I get lost, or become overwhelmed, I'll just jump straight to the end in a few days. Happy sewing!

Where did you end up getting a room at? Did you get to use the code? I am so jealous of you! I wish we were going too!!!! I am still hoping my DH will change his mind...

Yes, thanks for asking. We used the code. I priced out the weekend through disney online, the code and AAA. Room pickens was slim! We ended up at the All Star Sports. We have little girls so I was a little bummed but I think it will be fun.

Our package is three nights, two park days and the dining plan for around $834. It is a little more than I wanted to pay but, I think we can swing it. We have a credit with Southwest that will help out big time with the airfare. We will have to pay about $110 for the Christmas Party and then the BBB.

They are also running a special for five nights six days but it would have been over $1300 for the package. Add plane tickets, MVMCP, BBB and incidentals and it would have been way to much! We are going on a pretty big trip in March.

I know you posted it before, but I missed it. Could you point me in the right direction for instructions for the wipes container?

There weren't any specific instructions. I covered with thin batting, covered with fabric, glued and trimmed the edges then glued on trim. Do the corners like a package. Don't worry about trimming the fabric too perfectly, it will be covered by your trim. 3/8" trim works the best. I used E6000 glue and clothespins to keep it together while it dried.

This is DD's halloween costume. I got it from etsy.com. I'm pretty sure it was made using the corset top and tutu twirl instructions from ycmt.

I asked DD if she wanted this one or one with a tutu. She said the tutu would be too itchy! The first pic. doesn't do it justice, it's quite full! I love this set, it turned out pretty cute!

I LOVE IT! Where can I find these instructions from ycmt?

She looks gorgeous! How much did your outfit cost?

THanks!:cheer2: pirate:

That is not a bad price. With as little time that you spend in your room I wouldn't worry about staying at All Star Sports. We actually stayed there a couple of years ago and had a great time. Have fun and get sewing for the new trip!

You don't want to know what happened when I made one of these - it's wasn't pretty... luckily I had a seam ripper and my patience cap on otherwise they would have become kitty litter box liners. Now that I figured it out it's easy though!

Well, it wasn't easy for me the first time either. For some reason the pattern instructions told me to sew around the whole thing not just the top piece when I put the 2 fabrics together. And guess what, I couldn't turn it right side out! That was about 11:30 one night. The next morning, the instructions changed and said to just sew around the top! I just don't understand why the instructions wanted to mess with me like that!;)

Thinking about sewing for this trip . . .

Does anyone have pics of Belle's Christmas dress?

Whu? Huh? Sorry I'm sooooo distracted when you post! I DO make every effort to FOCUS on your words. I should get a prize for averting my eyes long enough to read. SO, post often, post briefly...and post often. (J/K!!! )

STOP

go right now to Voldemort and search

CUSTOM BOUTIQUE RESELL SHOE GIRL APPLIQUED OVERALLS 6 7

I might bid on these just on principal after this shoe discussion! If only it was closer to daughters size, and the hair was brown....

YIKES! I just showed these to DW and she LOVED them!

DW is a manager of a shoe store, and DD sometimes "works" there when I drop her off on my way to work. I think these would be "appropriate" work attire for her!
Talk about too many shoes and handbags! You wouldn't want me to even go there! I lost count many moons ago! DD has shoes for every occassion! And DW has a handbag for every day of the year!:scared:

They're beautiful (the dresses and the princesses)!! But I'm curious since I know jfulcer is a guy...did you make them or your wife?

Yes, I am a guy and yes I did them. I learned to sew as a present for my wife. I found it's not too difficult given time and a seam ripper every so often. I just have to make sure my wife doesn't see this thread - she'll get too many ideas.

I made these too:

Any guesses on the mane? ;)

that Costco has a similar machine for about the same price. I looked on Costco's website and it says that it has 10 feet with it. Does anyone know if it includes a ruffler foot? It doesn't say specifically what the feet are. Also, do you feel that this is a good machine for a beginner? I do plan on continuing sewing in the future, I'm really enjoying it. I welcome all of your opinions and thanks for the help!

Ok the feet are: (as I pull out my manual) Buttonhole Foot, Overcasting Foot, Monogramming foot, Zipper Foot, Zigzag foot, (on machine -that's what it says) Blind Stitch foot, button fitting foot, walking foot, quilting foot, and 1/4 inch quilting foot.......Now I have not a clue what any of these are for as I've still not learned to sew so I have no idea if any of them could be used for ruffles or if I would now need to buy another foot........

I'm willing to send some postcards from Louisiana. I think there are only 2 of us from here.

DS's class is trying to collect postcards from each state. If anyone is willing to send one, PM me and I'll give you the address.

We are in a shoe buying nightmare right now. She's not walking and it isn't cold yet, so for now they're just for decoration but her foot is teeny. 3 narrows are too big for her. So for now we have no shoes.

You are so sweet with the picture comments. You're my new best friend ;)
Seriously, some of the kids on this thread (yours included) are so photogenic. My kids go loony when I pull the camera out. I rarely get pictures of them that I like.

But it is good to be an LSU fan tonight :cheer2: . Are there any other football crazy ladies on here?

Thanks, I wish they were always so photgenic...I apologize to my mom every time I have to take pics of my kids...I know we were horrible anytime they wanted pics of me and my sister and I know my boys are just giving it back to me.....

I love college ball - Florida State Grad!!!! I also love peewee football, good thing because I'm there 3 nights a week for practice and then games on saturday:scared1: My sons team is called the Ravens so right now I have a fondness for the Baltimore Ravens because we use the same logo..I'm having the cutest onesie made (by the same person who did the black and pink mickey outfit) for Delaney to wear to her brothers football games. It's going to have the Ravens font with purple and black ribbon. I can't wait to get it!

For all you ladies that love the smocked dresses if you go to Voldemort and put in NWT smocked you will find a lot of Disney ones. I saw them while browsing and thought of you ladies.

Yikes:eek: ...smocked and Disney....Lord and I promised myself to lay off voldemort for awhile.....Phew nothing in any size I could use either now or for the trip in April....thank goodness

Very impressive! Is the mane a mop?
:welcome:
You are now the third male to post on the thread (unless I've missed one!) You can keep Tom company!

Too cute...go to Etsy dot com and use keywords "Princess Tinkerbell Fairy Ribbon" I'm so tempted but I'm on a self imposed spending freeze this week. These sure are cute though...If you check out her other items she has all the princesses.

My kids probably have too many clothes and shoes too. Certainly more than I ever had. A lot of clothes are hand-me-downs from friends so they are free. Then some I buy and some I make. I just hate not having something for them to wear. As far as shoes they probably have 8-10 pair...in different stages of wear and they may or may not fit exactly right. I tell you what. I bought pink disney crocs and they wore them almost everyday since May!

None of Zoe's clothes or shoes are hand-me-downs. If they were, I wouldn't feel quite so guilty about the number. LOL She got some hand me downs when she was an infant but I'm afraid most were not to my taste or looked like hand me downs. Since she'll likely be my only child, I know I go a bit overboard. My family are amused by it but I know they love it even when they shake their heads and roll their eyes at some of the outfits, like the leopard velour leggings and black chenille sweater Zoe wore at about 3 months. :cool2:

Wow very beautiful work....I love the fact that it wraps around the outfit! Very creative! Glad you have some "alone-time" to sew. I love to put on some nice music and sew in peace!!!  :rolleyes1

I put on bad horror movies. LOL I'm a total horror movie junky but now that I have Zoe I usually only get to watch them after she's in bed so getting to watch them non-stop the past few days is a treat. :lmao: I think the Sci Fi channel, home of the bad horror movie, is having a marathon this weekend.

I can totally relate! I have been doing laundry the past couple of days and I have 4+ baskets OVERFLOWING with clothes. I don't even want to think of folding them because there is absolutely NO room in any of the 3 kids' closets(or mine for that matter), and they are not small closets either. My DS1 even has a portable hanger thing outside his closet right now because he has too many clothes. Granted alot of his were baby gifts, Christmas and recent Birthday gifts, but still...I get sick when I think of all of the junk we have around the house. My project for next week is to weed out all of the too small clothes and get rid of toys!!!! It is so ridiculous the amount of things we have in this house. I am sure that we could have gone to Disney at least 2 or 3 times instead of all of the clothes and toys we bought!!!!:confused3

I really need to think in terms of what we could do with the cumulative savings rather than the cost for individual items. A couple tees from Old Navy here, some shoes there, etc. may not be a lot at a time but I'm sure it would add up to a nice amount to put toward a vacation savings.

Well, it wasn't easy for me the first time either. For some reason the pattern instructions told me to sew around the whole thing not just the top piece when I put the 2 fabrics together. I just don't understand why the instructions wanted to mess with me like that!;)

Don't you hate when the sewing gremlins mess with your mind like that? :rotfl:
