I just finished Arminda a shirt out of the blue Pooh toille, but I'm tired, and she is sleeping, so I will post pictures tomorrow. But, it looks really really similar to the one someone posted awhile back. (Ok, it looks exactly like it, but I put some ribbon on it, and I think I messed the sleeves up somehow).

Good night everybody!

I was there on Wednesday night, and it looked like they had an entire bolt, then, yesterday, Heather went to buy it, and it was GONE! POOF! VANISHED!
I haven't tried Sturgis yet. (I think it's pretty cool we live so close to each other though!) You weren't in Hobby Lobby on Tuesday were you? I saw someone in lime green crocs with a lime green blouse, and when they turned the other way, my kids and I did the focker watch signal! Ok, we are a REALLY weird bunch!
IF it's the slightly dark-ish RED sheer with 1/4" white dots, that you are looking for = there's quite a few yards at ninth street wallymart. =) ...
I still have yet to see the red&large white dots anywhere near here ... there must be somebody else scoping out the MINNIE FABRIC, other that us three! ...
No, sorry. It wasn't me in hobby lobby. :sunny:
I had a bad experience there, last christmas, so I refuse to grace them with my presence, unless it's absolutely unavoidable. :snooty:!! (*I'll ONLY go there IF : I run out of Wonder-Under & NO ONE ELSE in town has it, OR they have a 50% off fabric printable coupon on their website.* "boycott with fabric-addiction exceptions"*)
I wonder who she was? ... I look like my avatar, but with slightly darker red-brown hair. :) and my eyes are THAT large. :)

Yes, that's what we were looking for! I'm glad you weren't the "evil one" who bought all of "our" fabric! ;) I haven't caught up on the thread yet, but my sister said you live in our area. :cheer2: The only bolt I am guilty of clearing out is the bolt of Pooh toile at the Shaver Rd Walmart because it was $2/yard. That store had a very full bolt of the Minnie dot cotton fabric on Wednesday and when I went yesterday, it was gone. So, if it wasn't me, it wasn't teresajoy, and it wasn't you, who was it?

Fess up, fellow Kalamazoo area Diser!! We won't hold it against you, too much...:rolleyes1

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has the corset pattern with the shirred back? I saw one on the Youcanmakeit, or youcandoit...whatever it's called, but I wanted to ask here first...Thanks a bunch...

Boy you all are up early...today....:lmao:

Going, going, gone!
****It's been spoken for****
-A Little Pixie Dust-
I have a 50% online joann's coupon that I can't use (going out of town) It expires the 9th and is only good once.

I'm looking for that pattern too!!

Your welcome!! Here is a pic of your just created bling. I made it with pink and purple swarovski crystals and purple cat eye beads.

This is absolutely GORGEOUS. I  it. My girls will be soooo excited.:cheer2: I'm sure it looks even better in real life. Thank you so much.

Ok, FESS UP!!!! Who bought the entire bolt of the sheer red dot fabric at Walmart on Shaver road??????? HMMMM???? :confused3 My sister just called to see if I had bought it. She said some other dot fabric was all gone too, all evidence points to a Diser! Show yourself! :rotfl2: :lmao:

JoAnnes had the sheer dot a few years ago. It was with the costume fabric and had the large dots. We were having a Disney Bday party and I wanted to do a Minnie dress. I was really disappointed because the lining made it look more pink then red when I was done.

That doesn't surprise me! Do you ever get the feeling that we know more about fabric and sewing than the people working in that department? And that is saying something, since I only learned to sew about 6 wks ago!

I was in JoAnnes and asked for Wonder Under, they keep it behind the cutting counter. 2 of the women there asked me what it was. And one of them was the asst store manager!

:cool1: :cool1: I'M ALL CAUGHT UP!!!

And, I guess what my son was just doing?????? SEWING!!!! On his brand new sewing machine, bought for him in part, by his wonderful Aunt Heather! (hkite) We even bought a ruffler foot today at Hancock's, it was half price, so it was only $7!!! We were both really excited! I'm not sure what he's planning on ruffling, but it is fun to play with! So far, he has made a fabric shopping bag. We are trying n to use so many of the plastic ones. He also picked out a bunch of patterns at Hancock Fabrics today. (Where they only had TWO McCall's pattern books!) We'll see how he does. I will have to show him "Tom's" creations, maybe I can talk him into sewing for his sisters. :cheer2:

Or, possibly, he could make some things for his favorite 4 year old cousin?

What is a ruffler foot?

If you have questions about almost anything sewing, just look in teresajoy's bookmarks. There's a link to them on the very first post in this thread, in my siggy and teresajoy's siggy. To make it easier to navigate, just click "close all" at the top and then you can easily see the different catergories.

I must admit that I'm guilty of clearing out the regular red Minnie Dot at the Elkhart, IN store!

I feel better getting that off my chest!

I haven't got that one yet, but I really like it. There was an outfit made out of it on Ebay that I was studying, trying to figure out how to make the pattern myself.

The third fabric from the top is what I made my daughters top out of. LOL
I did a shirred top after being so inspired from this thread. Still trudging through all the posts trying to catch up. :surfweb:

I'm hoping to do some appliques and other stuff soon. We leave in 28 days so I gotta get busy.

:rotfl:

It wasn't hard, but it wasn't the easiest thing to do. I did learn one thing. For some reason the last one I did, I outlined the eyes, nose, and mouth with black, and added black eyelashes. It looked okay, but Tink came out much better. I wish I would have worked more on that today, but I made a skirt for my dd for animal kingdom, finished jeans to go with the kids of the world outfit and a couple of other things...

Well I guess the only way to learn is to try it and practice. I have been working on the applique technique by doing a daisy type flower...lots of curves! So next it to try to make my own princess applique...wish me luck and I will post when I am done! :goodvibes

Ok - DD took time out from the Hannah Montana marathon to try on this dress for me. ]

I was keeping track of how long I was sewing by how many times I heard that Hannah Montana intro song (You got the best of both worlds :rolleyes1 ) so thats funny that "all the princesses" on here were watching it while us Queen Mums sewed :rotfl: ! Absolutely beautiful dress on a beautiful DD!! Love it!! :thumbsup2

Wow Lori great job...I took a jewelry class at our local Michaels once. I got all of the tools but havent made too much jewelry since. Maybe you will inspire me with your gorgeous creations!!! :goodvibes

Our "local" JoAnn's is an hour away and they have two Pooh flannels and that is it for Disney stuff folks...I know cause I looked 2 or 3 times and called too.

Pathetic :headache:

Ok - DD took time out from the Hannah Montana marathon to try on this dress for me. See - don't worry even at 7 she lets me dress her up! :) I did have to modify the choices though! It turned out a little big around the chest - I am making another one and I think I will make it smaller. Funny thing is that she is wearing about a size 6 now - and I used a size 4 pattern because I know they run big and the measurements matched up - but it was still big. Does it look ok - or should I find a way to tighten the chest area? Also - I was contemplating the blue bows along the last seam - what do you all think? Should I add them around? I would love ANY and ALL opinions!;)

BEAUTIFUL!!!! (The dress and your DD). I think the sizing on it looks great...but I like the flowy and drapey look on these types of dresses. Great job! :thumbsup2

More beautiful work gang!

You guys are all so talented. :goodvibes

I don't believe that I have finally cought up. Now I better get of the computer before my husbands eyes burn a hole in me. I've been here a good hour and im not even dressed yet. :confused3

Here's the shirt I finished for Arminda last night/this morning. She picked out the ribbon to put on. At first I wasn't sure about it, but I think it turned out pretty cute. I didn't like how low the shirt came in the front, so I added a little piece of fabric so Arminda wouldn't have to worry about exposing herself!

This was a fairly easy pattern, but I just had one problem after another with this one! First, I couldn't find the screw to attach my presser foot. Corey had used the ruffler attachment on the machine earlier, and had misplaced it. I found one, and was set to go, or so I though. Then, I couldn't get any of my machines to run right (then I decided to check the bobbin tension, adjusted that, and now they sew beautifully!!!), several other stupid mishahps (sewing back to front on backwards, facing didn't fit right, needle was lose after Corey used the ruffler, it came lose and bent, etc..) and then, I went to sew the skirt on, and realized I had cut the fabric out upsidedown!!!! Upside down Poohs were not going to be ok! So, I made the seam allowances smaller and cut it out again, using the same piece. Then, when sewing on the arm facing, I caught up the shoulder seam. I'm STILL not sure how I did that. Whilst using the seam ripper, I accidentally stabbed a small hole into my leg. Be careful with those things!

Now, these things would not be so annoying if I was a beginning sewer, but GEESH! I've been sewing for quite some time now! Oh well, except for the leg thing, it all turned out ok!

Enought chitty chat, here are the pictures:

Is this the kind of top you're asking about? I've made tops like this one with faux ribbon lacing up the front. The back is shirred to make the top look fitted but it's a great style since it is very flexible for fit.

If that's what you're looking for or close, I'd be happy to explain what I do to make it. I don't use a pattern but I think I could explain well enough to get your started. :)

That's what I'm looking for, I would love an explenation! Thanks!

And, I forgot to add, I LOVE this set! It's not what you'd expect for Snow White, but it works beautifully!
