Was the camp shirt and apron top hard to do?? Did you use a pattern?? Those would both be perfect for my kids!!! Love them, they look great!!!

The apron top wasn't hard to do at all. It comes as one big pattern and you sew double fold bias tape around the edges. No sleeves and no collar and no hems makes it easy. I cut the pattern at the shoulder in order to do two different patterns. I didn't have a lot of the mickey fabric and I like the way it looks too.

If you buy a fabric that has an all over print you wouldn't have to do that but it isn't that difficult.

It is McCall's 5019. I think Lady Rob first recommended it. Thanks LadyRob!

I think it might actually be Butterick B5019. I've got the number bookmarked from when LadyRob mentioned it, too. McCalls also has a 5019, but it appears to be for doll clothes.

Ok, I may be too late here, but what if you went ahead as planned with the lavender bodice and cut a square with her favorite character out of the cutie fabric and appliquéd it onto the bodice? Or a series of 3? Depending on how much room you have on there, of course. I love the fabrics you have there - very nicely coordinated! Good luck - I'm sure it will be super cute no matter what you decide to do!

THis sounds like a great Idea I like it.

Hope you make the top!

Oops Your right! It is Butterick sorry. I think I better get some coffee! :surfweb: I walked from the computer to the sewing table and back and got it wrong LOL.

Also, Teresa I apologize for not liking Johnny Depp. I've really tried especially since POTC, and I can at least now tolerate to watch him. But, I will leave him alone for his real fans! Now Jack Sparrow is another story, I love the bad guys!!

Ok, I will forgive you! :rotfl: There are some celebrities that I've just tried to understand what the attraction was, and just DON'T see it. Like Ashton Kutcher, I don't see it at all. (Heather, though, disagrees with me on that one!) Oh, and that guy fromGladiator, what's his name!??!!! Darn, cant' think of it. I dont' get his attraction either! Now, that is just going to drive me crazy until I think of his name!!:lmao:
I just wanted to share this web site with you all...there are some really cute fabrics here.

Thanks! I like this site, and I'd forgotten about it! They also have good information about Disney copyrights and stuff.

This is SO frustrating! If the fabric exists to make fat quarters for quilting, WHY, oh WHY, can't we get it by the yard??? I'd SO love to have all 3 of these!! (part of a pre-packaged FQ set)

Here is what I finished today.

When DD saw it she said "is that mine" and so I just said "I don't know do you like it?"

Then she said "I love it, it's mine" and she tried to grab it and I said will you try it on and let me take a picture. She said yes.

THen she said she wouldn't take it off. I was going to pack it for our trip coming up. So she wore it out to dinner and then latter when she was getting her bath she asked me if it really was hers or was it for her cousin. :confused3 And she asked me what size it was. I told it is was really hers and it was a size six.

I thought it was so cute that she liked it so much she was worried about me giving it to her cousin. I am making a second one in size 3 to either sell or give to her cousin.

Cute story, and the top came out great! I really like that style and it looks darling on your daughter!

Tabberone also has a trademark page that anyone who sells on ebay may be interested in. A lot of big names (disney, mars, precious moments, the wiggles) have tried to or have had her auctions removed and she's sued them all and won!!! It's very interesting how those big companies misunderstand the copyright and trade mark laws.

BUT I don't think she sells her fabric by the yard, you have to buy a completed project- But I think she makes appliques for sale.

RE: my neurosis. Please do not think for one second that I am not aware of my condition. DENA, you sounded JUST like my b/f/f Amy. I have a painful type of perfectionism so, I was kinda freaking last night looking at all of the cut up parts (I actually had already sewn the straps and the ruffle on the bodice) and was planning on a cuties applique when I just started to flip- Thanks for the reassurance, I will post pice ASAP.

Off to sew. ...t.

Hmmmm....a twirly shirt to go with a twirly skirt? I need to figure out something to go with all these skirts I want to make, can you please share the pattern maker/number or a link. Thanks!

It's a YCMT strip work dress. I've actually made the bodice a touch longer and shortened tho skirt length ( from the suggested top length)

The pattern kind of freaked me out, like I said, I'm used to sewing for, well..me. so My mil (who used to make dolls) is like is that the dolls pattern?? UMM, no. That's not really the bodice, it need tobe blown up? umm NO. She was wearing an empire waisted halter so I held it up to the bodice of her shirt and was like, See, it's just tiny-she's tiny. I just kept looking at it like-It's so small!!:rotfl:

Will is too young for me also.

I will keep holding out for the real "JACK"!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Are there any of those out there? Okay, well, we know one lady here has her own real Jack. LOL! Keep looking mindymouse...you'll find the real deal sooner or later!

Just a quick post - got this shirt done for DS today -- just a basic camp shirt - and it looks like it's big enough that he'll be able to wear it next year too! (gotta have an excuse to go next year!!!) I'll make an identical one for DH. Not sure what style I'll do for myself or the other gals going with us. (1 of 7 with this fabric done... sigh)

Eshirt2.jpg

I like it! I do the same thing...whatever I make or get for DS's, DH has to wear the same thing also. I wish the girls could wear the hawaiian shirts and not look all frumpy and shapeless (which is how I look if I wear one that is not fitted). The men and boys have it made with the cool and comfy thing going on!

Not sure if they still have them but the Disney Store had the wigs awhile ago but I bet they will have them with the Halloween stuff. They are a kids size but the largest fit DH just fine. :)

Guess I'm gonna have to search the stores! Hmmmm...gotta go to the craft store anyway so I can finish DD's top here over the weekend...maybe a side trip to the Disney store! :rotfl:

You know, I thought the same thing because I have fat quarters of this fabric in the red, green, yellow and blue also, but what I'd really like is to have a few yards of each also. I just rememebered that there is a quilting store that opened up by me, so I am going to see about popping in there and asking if they have the fabric #1 and then #2 asking if it does indeed come by the bolt or only by fat quarters-I would hope they'd know. I'll report back when I find out.

Have you ever seen Tarzan in the MK? mm...mmm....mmmm

We saw Tarzan during MNSSHP last year. There was a treat trail w/ a jungle scene for pictures and Timon, Tarzan and Terk.

I posted a pic of DH a bit back w/ Timon, The scenery was great and the pics turned out so good.

Russell Crowe? Joaquin Phoenix?

No, but DH would probably have to snap my head back into place from turning and staring. LOL!

Ugh...sorry about the slew of posts ladies, guess I should have used multi-quote this morning. :guilty:
