Kids Disappointed With Characters Not Talking!

Yeah, she is terrible about the Characters! And everything else for that matter...bugs, bees, birds, dogs, cats, wind, you name it, she is screaming about it. She LOVES Disney though, just as long as we stay clear of Mickey and friends!

I know what you mean, My 4yr was like that. If you think about it, they do look a little scarey, lol!

LOL! My daughter has gotten over MANY fears she has had in her 4.5 year old life...water being a major one of them. So, this too shall pass..I hope! Funny thing is, if they are in parades, she has no issues with them. She will even put her hand out to them to high five! But anything else and she is shaking violently if they are in her sight. I think she must feel trapped in restaurants or during signings, since they are stationary and in the parades, she knows they are going to keep going. Don't know! We have told her no more autographs (which she LOVES having ME get for her) until she is brave enough to get them on her own. We will see. My DH is a huge source of her drama, and since he won't be with us in June, it might go better. No pressure though, it is her thing.

I had a very odd experience once at DL and got to hear Mickey talk!

It was park closing on a very quiet night, and I was wandering down Main Street, one of the last to leave. Suddenly Pluto rushed by me, with a man chasing him. Of course I had to see what was going on!

Pluto had the man's shoe, which he had apparently taken off to remove a stone or something. The man asked for it back, and Pluto darted into the exit area of Great Moments with Mr Lincoln. He started to pretend to bury the shoe in a planter.

Now the man was begging for his shoe back, as his friends were waiting for him in the parking lot. Mickey was dashing around Pluto, and their handler was nowhere to be seen.

Man keeps begging. Finally Mickey goes into the hat shop and offers the man a hat instead. Man gets a little ticked off.

Mickey finally bursts out in his high little voice 'Pluto! Pluto! give the man his shoe back!'

I think that Pluto was as surprised as I was to hear Mickey talk, because the man got his shoe back very quickly. Pluto gave a bad dog look, Mickey shook his finger at him, the man stalked off, and I continued to stare.

Had my own little private show of something very unusual at Disneyland!!!

I was recalling some lost memories of my many many trips to DL - here's another one that I love, and doesn't seem to be around any more:

pixie dust

Even after hundreds of trips, I can be surprised! :goodvibes
