Does RPR have a kids club? I was wondering if DH and myself might go to HHN and leave my DD to play in a kids facility whilst we were there.

If such a facility exists, what is the cost and up until what time does it open - if we get back quite late, is there an area where my DD could have a snooze? Or am I a terrible mom for considering this option??

You are not a horrible person for wanting to have some alone time with your DH. The kids will have a great time. My daughter has been to two of the onsite properties. The one at RPR is called the Mariner's Club and she did not want to leave. I am not sure about the hours of operation. Just call the hotel directly and they can tell you the hours or transfer you over to the kid's club to answer any questions you have.

Don't worry have a wonderful vacation. Also if it is more convenient for you ie if you have a reservation at a restaurant in the Portofino Bay Resort or Hard Rock Resort they will allow you to drop your kid's off to play in their clubs as long as you're staying at one of the onsite properties.

Hope that helps.

I highly recommend the Kid's Club at the RPH (Mariner's Club).
We have used it several times in the past for our 6 and 9 year old DS's.
(Especially when we want to go to Tchoup Chop!)
They always have a ball and never want to leave!
If your DD is too young for HHN and you and your DH really want to go (you're braver than me!), this is a great place to have her stay.
There is a big screen TV, bean bag chairs, chalkboard, lots of crafts for them to do, board games, and video games.

The ages allowed are 4 through 12.
They must be potty trained.

The cost is $10 per hour for the first child and $8 per hour for each additional child.

They offer dinner to the kids for an extra $10.50 per child.
That includes a choice of Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Chicken Nuggets, Pizza or Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich.

It's open from 5:00 until 11:30 or midnight.
They have later hours on certain nights (I would think this would be extended for HHN).
Phone Number: 407-503-2236

Call them and check it out and don't feel guilty!
You're a great mom for wanting your DD to have fun and enjoy herself rather than taking (dragging!) her to HHN when she's not ready for it.
That's my definition of a horrible mom!

Hope your vacation turns out great!

Hi pigby!

No, you are not a terrible Mom.

Looks like we will be at RPR the same time as you! I just made a reservation for the kids club so husband and I can enjoy HHN. The price is $10 per hour for 1st child and $8.00 per hour for each additional child. My kids ages are 11DD, 7DD and 4DS.

They will serve dinner for an additional cost. I think there are mats for the kids to rest on and watch a movie. I checked out the club last year but never did use it. It was very clean and colorful.

Thanks for your replies - feel much better now. Just have to build up my own courage for the HHN. Think I'll just take the chance on there being tickets still available for next weekend. Do they ever sell-out the weekend before Halloween?

Mandamom, May just run into you at RPR - we are there for 4 nights from 21st October and we have daughters of a similar age - my DD is 10 (she's always on the lookout for girls of a simialr age to hang out with - it's the 'only child' syndrome)

don't feel like a bad mom. i took my niece and nephew to RPR and my nephew was too young and too short for the roller coasters and i didn't want to deprive my niece. so we picked a night to drop him off there while we rode everything that he couldn't. he loved it there. as soon as we walked in he kicked off his shoes and went running. i had to call him back to say goodbye. when i picked him up, he wanted to stay longer and asked to go every night. one of the other things that i really liked about the Mariner's club is that the night we took him, there were no other kids signed up to be there until late evening but the owner brought her son in with her. and the 2 of them had a ball. i thought it was a nice thing to do!
