First time Disney cruisers here! Our son will be 3 years old turning 4 11 days after our cruise. Do you guys have any recommendations on leaving him in kids club vs nursery?

At 3 they will ask you to leave your child in Oceaneer's first. If that doesn't work out, you may be offered to choice of the nursery.

At 3 you can use both so you could try both and see what works.
You pay for the nursery or the kids club are free. it totally depends on the kid tho. If they prefer more one on one/individual care and quieter and smaller environments then the nursery would probably be best.
If they're independent, vocal with their needs, active then they'll do well in the club.
Characters visit the club's a lot more than the nursery. But it's not unusual for nursery staff to take the older kids through to the club to see the characters if the.nursery is quiet enough.

They will ask you, if your child can use the bathrooms completely independently. If not, they want you in the nursery.

But, they do not insist on it, initially. If you want to put your not completely toilet trained child in Oceaneer's (and he/she is 3 years old) they will ask you to return regularly (about every hour) to check if your child needs to use the toilet.

Sounds like a better plan and comforting to hear that - which ship? They gave us a very hard time with this about 2 years ago with my older one on the Wonder. The manager was so strict and stern about it, it was too stressful.

We used both for our little one a few years ago. He was 3 1/2.

We had planned to use the Club exclusively.
But then I tried to drop him off one day, and he was tired and clingy and had a melt-down at the idea of separating.
(He really needed a nap, and I really needed grown-up time.)

So we walked over to the nursery.

A nanny came out, and rather than being all "BRIGHT and ENTHUSIASTIC", she was calm and soothing.
He happily went into her arms.
She carried him into the nursery, rocked him a few seconds and he fell asleep and napped for almost 2 hours.
He woke up wet, so they just put him into back-up clothes. No big deal.

He had ONE accident at the club later that week, and they were also cool about it, though obviously I had to bring clothes asap.
At that point he left with me because parting again wasn't happening.
