Checking out the kids clubs on the official WDW site, the club at Animal Kingdom Lodge isn't listed.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading about a club there, was it Simba's Playhouse or something similar?

We were considering staying at AKL for the last few nights of our trip but if there is no kids club we may change our plans.

Anyone who has just returned know if the kids club is still up and running?

Thanks :D

We stayed there in May 2001 and my DD went there one night. She loved it and wanted to go back! As far as I know it's still up and running.

Yep, it's there, Simba's Playhouse. We checked it out in August although my daughter did not stay there. Looks nice. :)

What do they have there for children in the 4 y/o range? Do they have "make believe" items, like play kitchens, etc.? Do they have indoor climbing equipment?

TIA,
Hentob

We will be staying at AKL in October and the kids will be going to Simba's Cubhouse. We haven't used this one before, but have been to both the Neverland Club at Poly and the Sandcastle Club at YC. I'm sure this one is very similar.

The others have a "homeliving" area with dolls, play kitchens, and other things to play house. They have a crafts area and I am pretty sure there is at least one "organized" craft activity during the evening. There are all sorts of action figures and building materials that my ds just loves. They have videos available for the kids to watch as well as video games for them to play with. Of course, there are puzzles and books galore.

My dd (9 yrs old) and my ds (5 yrs old) just love going there. They ask to go everytime we go to WDW. I know we all enjoy a break - we get to have some "adult" time and they get to play with toys and have "down" time.

I highly recommend using these services. The cast members are terrific and the security for the kids is very good. Believe me, you will not get them out without ID, even if they run up and yell "Hi Mom!" They give you a pager to carry just in case they need you, but we have never needed it.

We just used Simba's Cubhouse last weekend!!!! Our son is 4 and loved it! I made a reservation through Disney Dining the day before. They took a deposit of $16.

It was very worth it. Dh and I wanted to try Boma's, but didn't want to feel rushed. We dropped DS off at Simba's and they were very professional. They gave us a paper that we need to "pick him up" with and a pager (very secure there). He had a great time!!!!! He ate dinner there as well. I would do this again in a heartbeat. It allowed DH and I to have a date on our vacation. I even dressed up that night.

Thanks everyone for your replies - it's good to know the Cubhouse is still up and running! And thanks *********** for the great photos! :D

Great photos ***********!!! We plan on using Simba's when we are at AKL over Thanksgiving weekend so mom and dad can have a little time alone. The kids LOVED the Neverland club so I am sure they will love Simba's too!
