Kids clothing........shopping ?

I am heading up to the local boutique later when hubby gets home, I want to check the sales
plus they also have the webkinz and i want to get them for the easter baskets.

for the poster that likes hannah andersson.........i didn't notice where you are from.........but there is a great outlet we go to occasionally in Kittery Maine

I know I'm awful but dressing my girls (2 and 8 months) is one of my favorite things to do! I shop all the time and I even pre-order some of the brands I really like - although it is a little difficult to judge sizes for something DD isn't going to wear until May or June in November or December. My favorite places to shop are Janie and Jack and little boutiques. There is a fabulous childrens shop in the little town where I'm from (my mom bought lots of our clothes there too when we were growing up) and she carries lots of Bailey Boys, Biscotti, Le Top, and Kate Mack.

I'm the same way! I'm thinking about joining Shopoholics Anonymous, if there is such a thing. I think I've bought about three things for me this Winter and what many would consider a new wardrobe for each of my kids, on top of the closets full of clothing they already own!

By the way, I also love Biscotti and Kate Mack for my DD3.5, haven't bought anything that's Le Top yet but it looks gorgeous.

Hey! I'm excited to see someone else mention Naartjie! For DD, it's mostly Gymboree and Naartjie, with some Hanna thrown in. I want to start getting more Keedo too, as she loves the one outfit she has.

For DS, it's Gymbo, Janie & Jack, Hanna & Naartjie. I like Gap jeans for him too, although I try to find those at OUAC (consignment.)

I shop all year round but I never pay retail.

I shop year-round. My kids wear uniforms now so I try to limit their non-school clothes but I probably still overbuy. AFA stores, everywhere from Wal-Mart to boutique brands on eBay & everything in-between. Mostly Old Navy, GAP, Children's Place & Target. DS10 is all angles & elbows so ON & GAP are the best for pants for him because of the adjustable waist. DD7 has become a little fashionista & while I probably will still do some shopping for her by myself, she's getting to the point that I might have to start taking her with me. She has very definate taste & has started to veto a few things I buy. Luckily she will usually wear veto'd clothing as PJs or grubbies/messy clothes.
Both my kids have a bin in their closets where out of season clothing goes until they can wear it. DD loves 'shopping' in her bin a few times/year for 'new' clothes.

I usually shop at the end of the year, but with my girls its become harder and harder to judge what size they'll be in the year after sometimes its the same size, sometimes its 2 sizes bigger, and I HATE that some girls clothes are made SOOO much smaller than boys.. arrgghhh I'm sorry but my 5 yr old should not be able to fit into a size 10 of any brand at 45" and 40 pounds. Anyway.. I did a major run of summer clothes already for this year at old navy (most of the stuff was 3.90$ each) and then another run to the outlets, I'll pick up a few pieces here and there but usually I get mine all at once.

I have a terrible shopping problem for my boys. I just shop all year long. I do try to wait for some sales and do take advantage of Gymbucks. But I love Gymboree, Gap, Mini Boden, and CWD kids for my boys. I never buy myself anything, but my kids still have winter clothes with the tags still attached. It's really pretty bad, but I just can't help it. LOL!

I shop year round, but really try to hit the end-of-season clearance racks for DD. If I am buying a lot, I try to only buy ahead at places like Kohl's and Carters. That way, you can always take it back if it doesn't fit no matter how long it has been as long as you have the receipt!

I am another that LOVES Naartjie. It makes me sad though that I am on the East coast and there are no stores over here. So I call the Sacramento store for my orders. I also love Hanna and Gymboree and I LOVE Greggy girl and buy Greggy Girl when it's on-sale. I got a few outfits for our Disney trip I will get DD denim from The Childrens place but that's it. I do not like the Quality of the clothes. DS is starting to out Grow Gymboree and a lot of it looks too babyish for him. I also buy Gap for DS. I like the "look" of gap for him.

Le Top wears as well as anything I have ever put on either of my kids. My oldest has several outfits that she wore over and over (I tend to do Le Top for play clothes) that I am going to pass down to my youngest because they look like they've never been worn!

If you like Biscotti and Kate Mack you should also try Trish Scully and Florence Eiseman. Fabulous!!!!!!!

I shop at will, but I do try to shop sales. It's my hobby!

I like my girls (ages 6 and 2.5) to look cute and age appropriate. They both prefer dresses, which is fine by me. Most of our clothes come from Gymboree, Gymbo Outlet, Hanna, Lands End, and Naartjie. Some LL Bean. I am getting into Pumpkin Patch too, now that we have a Nordstrom's. I also pick up basics at Target, Kohl's, Sears, and Penney's.

I have a hard time getting my girls into Gap, ON, and TCP, which is too bad because they have decent prices. Their clothes are just cut too narrow, and they don't work for my girls. My older DD can't do Justice either.

My big challenge is shopping for my older DD, now that she is a solid 7. I have a hard time with the 7-14 section at department stores. I have to say that Target has had a surprisingly decent selection in the larger sizes. I find that I have to spend the extra money at HA, Naartjie, LE, and Gymbo for decent cuts and styles now that she is getting bigger.

I try to buy at the begining of each season but I find myself buying clothes year round, For DS10 I shop ON, Target, Young World, If you're into sales Value City you can't beat the prices, brand names for a fraction of cost. My DD16 spends a small fourunte at American Eagale, Areopostale, and ON

Thanks for the tip, I've tried Florence Eiseman which was also beautiful, but haven't bought anything Trish Scully (I just cheked out their site though, looks goregeous).

The new brands I just bought last month were Sister Sam, Mim-Pi, Luna Luna and Indygo Artwear. I was pleased with them all, Indygo is so unique! One that I've been buying for a while that stands out to me is My Vintage Baby, not cheap but adorable! I've been trying to buy one piece of each new brand that I like to see what the quality is like so I don't overbuy, but it's not helping!

Is there a seasonal consignment sale in your area? Most happen twice a year, spring and fall, and they are a great way to pickup quality new or gently used clothes for kids! Even though my boys are 4, I'm still able to find most of their clothes there - TCP, Gap, Levi's, all the discount store brands, and some of the boutique brands too.

I shop all year, clearance sales and a bug buy at the beginning of school. The 3 younger kids are always dressed in Gymbo, Janie & Jack or Ralph Lauren. My oldest daughter is always in Charlotte Russe, AF, Aero, or AE. This year I haven't had to do much shopping for DS...he hasn't grown a lot. So if you are there next week and see a boy in a lot of last years J&J or Gymbo lines, thats us LOL

I love, love, love My Vintage Baby! I also like Greggy Girl but I have had some quality issues.

I agree - it's so hard not to overbuy. I'm so bad about buying dresses. My girls could probably wear a new dress to church every Sunday all season. I really need to focus more on more casual things but I just can't help it! Kelly Kids also had some ADORABLE things this season.
