Kids can sleep in the Oceaneer Club, right?

We are cruising in May and are assigned late dining with 7pm show. I plan on feeding the kids before the show (ages 4 and 3), taking them to the show, and then bringing them to the Oceaneer lab so that Mommy and Daddy can enjoy dinner with our adult friends (my son does NOT do well in restaurants). Do they have a resting area in the club? My daughter always passes out by 8-8:30 and I just want to make sure this plan would be ok. Thanks!

My daughter slept in the club, there wasn't an area dedicatedtosleeping, she had her mat out over by a computer. Other kids played around her. After she was sleeping for an hour in the middle of the day the club called to let me know she'd been sleeping so long (and strongly hinted she should go back to her room.) I'd think they would expect it in the evening hours, though...

In the evenings if they fall asleep on the mats, the CMs will literally pull the mats out of the traffic path (so the kids won't get stepped or fallen on!) and let them sleep till mommy comes.

They can, but my DD never has. We have been taking DD on DCL trips since she was 5 months old. Ever since she has been old enough to be in the clubs, she is up until we pick her up. She is an only child, and loves to be around other kids. She would play until midnight/1am every night if we let her, and most of the time during the cruise we do. After 9pm or so, there is a quiet time movie, that they place mats out in front of the screen and put on a movie. Lots of kids fall asleep there, and it is a quieter time in the Oceanears Club. The Lab also has an area with mats, but on our last cruise, they tried to keep the Club more quiet after 9pm, and lots if excitement in the Lab.

LOL!! My 4 year old will still be up playing I am sure, but my daughter is a sleeper. Doesn't matter how much excitement is around her, she will ask to go to bed. As long as they pull her out of traffic area so she doesnt get trampled, I am good with that.

I thought parents weren't allowed into the clubs unless it's during an open house. Do they let you in to pick up your sleeping child?

Yes you are always the one to go in and get your child. But you can’t hang around and they give you a lanyard to wear to identify you as a parent who’s picking up. After that you give them your password to leave the club once you’ve collected your child.

You are allowed in for pick ups whether sleeping or no.

You go in to get your child. You get a lanyard, and they watch you. My son was resisting leaving, and while his dad urged him to leave (while the girls he was playing with on the dance floor begged him to stay) the CM came over to tell him his time was up.

Since this is an older thread just wanted to add that the kids club magic band is a locator. When you check desk for pickup the cast member will look up the last know location off the band’s RFID. If they are sleeping it will be quick but if they are playing and moving you can still be doing some searching.

Are the pick up lanyards new? Sailed cruise number 7 this April and didn't have it then.

We've been sailing with dd going to the club since 2014, and just did our latest cruise a few months ago and have never been given a lanyard either. We've always had to give a password.

We sailed in February and I'm pretty sure I didn't get a lanyard. I did however have to provide a password at the nursery, possibly the club too. The first pick up at the nursery was pretty funny because my DH set the password and he used DS's nickname. The CM had to assist pretty hard to help me figure it out, lol.

No lanyard. Yes password. Remind your kid not to say the password because then the CM has to find other identifying questions to ask you. Not that my kid started doing that.

I'm a HUGE Notre Dame football fan, so I picked "GO Irish" on our last cruise for the password. My dh went to the Air Force Academy and hates Notre Dame. He was not happy when he had to go get dd from the club. Hehehe!
