Every weekend when I go to the flea market now, there's a farmer's market section. I buy tons of fruit and usually spend under 10$ too. When I get home, I cut it all up and put it in ziploc baggies. As the week goes on, I eat all, just so I can replenish on saturday.
That is one great thing about being here in California. Back home, I didn't buy much fruit unless it was on sale. Here I can buy half a box of strawberries for 6$, cantelope for 1$, huge watermelons for 5$, mangos 2 for a 1$, tomatoes 2lbs for 1$, banana bunches (usually 6) for 1$, Oranges/tangerines 2lbs for 1$, lettuce for a 1$. There's a ton of other fruits too that I don't normally eat that are extremely cheap. I love it, and there's always something to munch on. On top of that, the fruit is so sweet, and the strawberries are huge. I could easily spend 20-30$ or more on all the fruit I buy if I was back home in Florida. Mostly just cutting out all the shipping charges since most the stuff sold there is grown in California to begin with.
