My kiddos have a little experience with pin trading at DW and DL, and they have their hopes up about pin trading on our first Disney cruise. We are cruising on the Fantasy on 3/26. Any insights on where, when, and how to pin trade on the cruise?

Thanks!

Chris

There's usually one night when they have pin trading with the ship's officers. I can't remember what night it was on when we were on the Fantasy other than it was later in the cruise and in the late afternoon or early evening. I'll try to locate the information in our old Navigators and post it. ETA: I just found it. It was on the 5th night of our Fantasy cruise, our St. Thomas day. They had it at 7:15 on Deck 3.

That's the only time I remember for sure my DD did trading. It's not as prevalent on the ship as in the parks. I don't know if the gift shop has a book like the gift shops at WDW do. There are always opportunities to trade with other cruisers if your DD isn't shy about asking someone else if they'd like to trade.

We were on WBPC in October...there was pin trading every night outside the shops (special binder, check the Navigators for times, ours was 7:15 each night) and then 1-2 special officer trading nights...each shop has a pin trading binder and the customer service binder too! We traded every day and found 75-100 quality trades on the 14 night cruise .

We found that cast members at guest services, port adventures, DVC desk, and Internet desk frequently had lanyards on with pins. Also often cast members outside Cabanas sport lanyards with pins. Otherwise, the aforementioned officer pin trading is usually held one night (check the Navigator). My DD loves trading on that night and got some really neat pins.

I appreciate the info everyone. I wasn't planning to take pins for the cruise portion of the trip, but those plans have changed. Thanks!
