Beside Disney which would be a good amusment park for kids under 5 close to Disney

Although it's a bit run down and not as elegant theming as DL, Knott's little kid section is great as there are hardly any lines for the rides if you go during the week. You can definitely feed the "Again! Again!" mentality as usually you don't have to wait. I would try to get a discounted ticket though to make it worthwhile. Don't expect spectacular shows with the Peanuts gang. The costumes on Charlie Brown and Snoopy are often dirty but if your child is not shy, when they ask for volunteers and your child is eager and raises their hand up right away, they get to be a part of the show. The Knott's hotel is within walking distance of the park, but beware. The hotel walls are paper thin. You will hear a lot of noise with the kids above you running around. I complained once and then the next time I was there, my kids were sitting on the bed laughing while they watched tv and we had security come and tell us to be quiet. So, despite the great location, I won't stay there again. Hope this info helps.

My kids age range from 2-6. A big vote for Knotts and Adventure City. My kids are DL kids but they love Knotts and Adventure City more than DL because they can go on the rides by themselves. They aren't the big themed attractions like DL but the kids LOVE them. When they are happy, I get to relax!

Legoland is fun as well but the only issue I had was that my 2 year old could not go on any rides there. If they were at Knott's, Adventure City or even DL, he'd be able to go on them with an adult but not at Legoland. My 6 year old was tall enough to ride alone on some but my 5 year old was tall enough to ride but with an adult. Also the rides are very slow loading at Legoland...very slow...so expect to stay in line for awhile.

The hotel that a previous poster mentioned wasn't originally built by Knott's. It was built and owned by several other companies until Cedar Fair acquired it.

Knott's for sure. My DD9 loved Knott' Camp Snoopy until just recently-she's now graduated to the more thrilling rides-Montezoonas Revenge, Jaguar, etc.

If you go during off season your kids and do the rides at CS many times. One May right after Memorial Day, DD rode 26 rides. Knott's is great when it's not crowded. Avoid summer, especially weekends. Knott's AP is pretty cheap so it's a popular place on weekends, all year, for locals.

Have fun and don't forget to have some of Mrs. Knott's famous fried chicken. We get it from the Mrs. Knott's to go located right next to the restaurant. If you do this make sure to ask for chicken "hot from the kitchen". There are outside tables you can enjoy your meal at. :goodvibes
