Hello! I remember reading that there were some brides who had a kids activity table at their reception. I was wondering for those who had this or those who will be having this type of thing--can you please share with me some of your ideas and pictures of this?? Since there will be children coming to our wedding, I would like to do this at the reception. Also, other questions...how much did this cost to do this?? Does Disney charge any more to do this?? I appreciate any advice you can offer me. THANKS!!! :goodvibes

We are having our reception at the Whitehall room and patio. We will have a children's activity table set up outside on the patio. We will have a lollipop centerpiece and I will provide the activities. We are being charged only for the centerpiece. I will have things like coloring and activity books with crayons, simple Disney puzzles, small Disney toys. Basically a bunch of Disney kid activities that I can find at the local dollar store!LOL I don't want to have stamps or markers because that will get too messy.

I think that its always a good idea to give kids a project to keep them busy. I always think Legos are a great way to keep kids busy for a while- and there's no mess involved.

Another good way to keep kids busy is a few beads a some string. I have taught kindergarten and pre-k and you would be surprised at how long kids will sit and make necklaces and keychains. (Boys and girls).

We brought all of our things for our children's table. We brought Disney games, puzzles, books for the little ones, Mickey bubbles, coloring books and crayons.

I didn't get married at Disney, but I did have an activity table so to speak. I had a couple of tables covered in butcher paper and put bowls of crayons and gold fish on them. The kids were able to snack and color while the adults were able to chat (the reception was more of an open house). Even some of the adults enjoyed it! I would post pics, but they are on DH's laptop which currently has a dead power cable.

I don't have any pictures, but I had coloring books, beads, puzzles, and I can't remember what else. It was all Dollar Store stuff. We had kids at the wedding, but not a lot. So, I think kids pretty much took the stuff from the table, and brought it back to their table, which was fine.

THANK YOU ladies!! Skylarr29, I love your centerpiece and thank you for your photos!! I really appreciate it!! :goodvibes

The weddings that I have been to with kids tables have had:

  • coloring books/pages or butcher paper table covers with crayons
  • kid inspired centerprices: lollipops in sand pails
  • kid appropiate favors: candy or small toys
  • disney themed books
  • spiral straws for their drinks
  • kid appropriate cutlery (when eating at the table)
  • I like theboard game idea
  • Legos (just a few small sets would work)
  • stickers
  • small toys(dolar store kind)- playing cards, connect 4,
Basically it's an opportunity to have fun, and to keep kids entertained.
