Kiddie Pools at Resorts

I just returned from a week at the CR north wing, and while being led to my room by the bellhop, I asked why there is no kiddie pool at the Contmporary. He told me that due to some new florida board of health regulation, a kiddie pool falls under the same catagory as a hot tub. Therefore, stricter rules and regs. He said that Disney will no longer build kiddie pools, but will instead continue with the "zero entry" design at the Poly.
Does this make any sense to anyone, or was this guy full of it?

I don't know if it is true or not but if you think about it, kids poop and pee in the pool, not every parent is good about swim diapers. Since the kiddie pools are usually smaller, these are more concentrated. They probably have to treat it more often and thus are more expensive to maintain. The zero entry design is much better anyway. There is more room for the kids to play.

The CR used to have a kiddie pool. It was filled over several years ago. WL has a really nice kiddie pool.

If what he says is true, I don't know why WDW would be "afraid" of building new kiddie pools as they have many, many hot tubs.

The zero entry pools are really nice. We stayed at a non-wdw hotel with one. They also seem to be associated with "deluxe" resorts at WDW. It would be nice to have them at the value resorts as lots of young families stay at these resorts.

I believe CSR has a very nice kiddie pool. During our last stay there it was under construction and looked very cute.

I'd rather have zero entry pools.

Usually the kiddie pools are separate from the big pools and then some of them you don't have a good view of the main pool because of shrubs, like at AKL, POFQ, ASMo. It's hard when you have a kid who is in the kiddie pool but his older brother is too big for the kiddie pool and wants to go to the main pool. Hard to keep an eye on both.

With zero entry pools, I can have the younger one playing in the zero entry area and big brother can play in the deeper end and I can still watch both of them since they're in the same pool.

At CSR you can have a child in the kiddie pool and still see the main pool which is located right across from the exit from the slide so you can sit with your little one in the kiddie pool and also see your other one coming down the slide and the lifeguard is also there so they have configured it the right way.

I know this is a dumb question but what is a zero entry pool? Thanks

A zero entry pool is set up like a beach where you walk right into the water without any kind of edge around one end of the pool. They are great for little kids because they can play in ankle deep water if they want!
