Kidcot Stations?

Could somebody tell me what these Kidcot stations are like throughout World Showcase? I know they deal with arts and crafts from the different countires, but what is the age range? Our daughter is three and I am thinking she would love it. Also heard of a passport book where at each country you get your book stamped. Is that correct? Sounds like a fun way to keep the kids entertained walking around World Showcase. Thanks for any help.

The Kidcot stations at Epcot were alot of fun for all my children. I think it would be perfect for your DD.

At the first country - we went to Canada first - ask about it. She will get to color a mask. At each country she will get a "stamp" on the handle of the mask and a "cutout" attached to the mask. A different cutout for each country.

The CMs were so fun - in Italy singing Small World in their own language, in Japan they wrote the kid's names in Japanese( or was that China - sorry). The kids had a great time and got a great souvenoir(free!).

When in the World Showcase check for characters. Aladdin or Genie in Moracco, Belle or Beast in France etc.

The masks are great fun for the kids. I am sure your DD will love it. The CMs are so helpful and interesting. You can spend as much or as little time as you please at each station. It's a great activity.

The masks can be used for any age! The stations are inside the various stores, and they are tables with CMs sitting at them. There are various markers available to decorate the masks, as well as the stamps the CMs put on the stick handle (sort of like a paint stirrer stick) and the cut-outs attached (the cut-out represents that particular country).

The passport is for sale at the various countries, and the CMs will sign in their own language. There are stickers featuring each country that the child puts in on their own (either then or whenever).

When DS's were 4 they loved the kidcot stops. They really looked forward to each country (back then it was a completely different craft at each stop, but I know the kids who do it now love the masks). I also got them the world passport. You can find it in the gift shops in Epcot. They got to put sitckers from each country on a page and then they got it stamped and signed at each country, if the kidcot stop does not have the stamp, or if the kidcot stop is closed, a CM in one of the gift shops will have it.

Your daughter may be a little young, but if you can help her memorize "hello" in some of the languages, it adds to the fun. My DS5 happened to know how to say hello in Japanese because of a song he learned in pre-K. When we went to the Japanese Kidcot station, he put his hands together, bowed, and said hello. The CM was pleasantly suprised, and congratulated him. Sometimes the littlest things are the most magical, y'know?

Our son loved the mask decorating when last year when he was 3. We also bought him a Passport but he didn't really get into that. I saved it and he may want to use it this year now that he's 4. The CM's do stamp the stick of the mask at the Kidcot stations so you really don't need to buy the passport.

We were just there and my DD (11) totally enjoyed it and she also did the passport.

What REALLY surprised me was my DS (15) even did the mask. He designed the face and got the attachments and carried it sticking out of his backpack.

The CM's were very pleasant and great with the kids - and there were all ages !

ps In Japan my DD bought a fan (about $3) and then they wrote her name on it in Japanese, no charge.

My kids were 9 and 7 and enjoyed making the masks and getting their passports stamped. After each CM wrote in their passport, I wrote down the translation of their message. It is a nice souvenir, and they liked showing their passports to their class when they got back to school.

It sounds like the masks have changed since '02 a bit but I think my DD6 will love doing it regardless! Does anybody recall the cost
of the passport? I know she would love anything to do with stickers!
