We have 3.5 yr old b/g twins, weighing 40 lbs (boy) and 35 lbs (girl). Our days of getting by with an inexpensive stroller are over, I guess, due to the low weight limits. We travel to Orlando twice a year, and the Caribbean once a year. Renting a stroller is pretty expensive, and we do like the option of using a stroller in the airport to speed things along! Now we are looking at Mac Rally Twin, Mac Twin Traveler (as a side note, is the Twin Traveler being replaced by the Twin Techno? I can't find a 2006 Twin Traveler anywhere!) and the Kidco Lifestyle Sport Double. I can find a lot of reviews on the Macs, but very few for the Kidco. Can anyone enlighten me? It looks like a decent stroller, and has a 50 lb per seat weight limit.

I have a Kidco LS2000 (single) and think it's OK. We have traveled a lot with it and it works but I don't think it's the best made stroller ever made or anything. But it works for us and the price was right. It did come with a 2yr warranty which I haven't had to use. I do think the wheels feel a little more wobbly after it's been on a few trips (5 R/T - 13 legs total). I've never compared it with a Mac side-by-side IRL so I can't comment on that at all. I did think it was interesting that when I tried to go look at the Kidco website I can't find anything about their strollers on it at all now. They used to have a whole section under this url: www.kidcoinc.com/stroller.cfm which now just directs your to kidco.com and doesn't show anything about strollers so I wonder if they're even making them any more? :confused3 I just thought I would mention it. You might feel safer going with a company that is still making the strollers they sell... Just a thought!

all4fun - Thanks for the heads up about Kidco strollers no longer on their website. I do take that as a warning to stay away! Maybe that's why I was having a hard time finding them anywhere to look at in person. I guess I'll go with a MacLaren. Now, which one? At least you've helped me narrow it down. Thanks again!

The rally seats (depth) are smaller and more narrow. When my 1 year old was born I looked into the traveller but my then 3 year old was too big for it; the rally was even smaller. Make sure you test it out somewhere; I am still strugglling to find a double stroller to fit them both.

**the reason my son was too big for the traveller was not a weight thing but a size issue. He was so broad that his shoulders did not fit into his side of the stroller. We have the single Maclaren for him that he still fits in fine. They must just make the double a little more narrow.

If the double doesn't work for you than my suggestion is to get two single Maclarens. You don't have to invest in the techno you can get away with the quest, especially if you don't have the need for the adjustable handle bars. If you get the same model you can get stroller connectors if you need to. I have a techno and quest and the connectors won't work with them.

The MacTT is pretty narrow too, that's the main reason we sold ours.

It looks like you can get a Kidco for under $200 on eBay, not bad. How can it be birth to 100 lbs? Do they mean up to 50 pounds/kid? http://cgi.ebay.com/KidCo-LifeStyle...ryZ66704QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Yes, 50 lbs per seat. The Macs go to 55lbs per seat.
We already have 2 single strollers that we're happy with, but for vacations we prefer to deal with one stroller (a double) versus 2 singles. We've tried the connectors and they work in a pinch, but I wouldn't want to deal with them for the whole vacation. (Using the connectors make it almost impossible to get thru doors) Does anyone know anything about the Mac Twin Techno? Is it replacing the Twin Traveler? The specs on the Twin techno say it's 30 inches wide, vs 29 in for the TT and the Rally Twin. I was assuming that would make the seats wider? My problem is there aren't any places near me that have twin stollers on display! I am frustrated!

We have the same issue! We have tried the Macs and the seats are too narrow on the doubles. He is squooshed. He looks like big man in a little chair! :teeth:
