Kidani vs Jambo - Which would you pick?

So yes it seems I have become poll crazy the past few weeks...

Insight from people who have stayed at both Jambo and Kidani -- what would you choose knowing there will be 2-3 people in a traveling group so the bathroom issue isn't that big of a deal as it would be with a larger group. We have stayed in Kidani before but never Jambo and often walked over for CS at Jambo....

We have stayed at both.

My family prefers Kidani & plans to stay there again in the future.

DS11 really enjoyed the community hall.

All of us thought the pool area was very nice. The lack of a real counter-service there did not bother us, as we got the sandwiches that are available at the pool bar & we ordered a room service pizza for DS11 & they delivered it to our table at the pool. (There is a phone at the pool bar specifically to use to order room service to the pool).

Loved Sanaa & have an ADR there for this July, even though we're not staying at Kidani this trip (kids wanted to try BLT this time).

Can't vote one way or the other. We always get a 2BR and have a high desire for room space. When we have four we will stay at Jambo to assure closeness to three restaurants. When we have five or more, I will take Kidani for the larger and dedicated 2BRs and one of our favorite restaurants.

We have stayed at both. We liked the view from the studio at Jambo better but we like Kidani better. We don't mind the walk to Jambo. We love Boma! The pool at KV is one of the reasons we like KV and community hall is nice here. Not as noicy and busy.

We like to be where the "action" is. I think I like it much better at Jambo - especially because we have been staying in Concierge the last few years and now we are spoiled!

There is room service pizza available at Kidani??? We were just there for 4 nights at Christmas and I did not know about the pizza. I wish I had known. What kind of pizza is it? Is it the same pizza you can get at SSR? Passagoula Pizza Works or something like that? That was some really good pizza.

This could solve our AK dilemma for future trips. We loved Kidani, but hated having no food options. Please tell me more about the pizza!

It was a "Kid's pizza" I believe...just enough for one. I don't think it was any bigger. DS is at a friend's right now or I would ask him.

I don't know if larger pizzas were an option because the rest of us just got the sandwiches from the pool bar.

I would imagine though, that anything you could order from regular room service though, you could get at the pool, because that's who we ordered from - Room Service.

We've stayed at both. I voted for Jambo just because I do like the restaurants there better. However, I was torn because when we have a car, I very much prefer Kidani ... love the underground parking and no "wet" car in the morning from the humidity! Plus it's so convenient to just go up the elevator and virtually be in your room.

One note about pizza - when we were at Kidani last Oct. I asked a CM to recommend a pizza delivery place and he did. I cannot remember the name of it ... sorry! But it was really, really good pizza. So do realize you are not limited to WDW pizza or room service.

Also, does anyone know - if you're DVC and staying at Jambo, can you use the Kidani pool?

I like Kidani better. One reason is it seems like you are closer to the animals. Another reason is it's purpose built for DVC, not a hotel conversion.

There are a couple things in favor of Jambo, such as the restaurants and club level rooms.
Those don't outweigh the advantages of Kidani IMO.

We have stayed at both. Jambo is nice as the merchandise store is vastly superior and there are more restaurants. We prefer Kidani because of the nicer villas, ability to park underneath and the walk to Jambo is no big deal.

And Kidani has Okapi and Red River Hogs!
