:happytv:So we are brand new DVC members:banana: and will be making our first trip the world as DVC members in July, 10th - 18th. We will be staying at the Kidani village, unless our club level waiting list room is available.

I have read that the Timon section is better if you would like to walk to the main AKL building but it is a little farther from the pool at Kidani.

So, Question #1:  What is your favorite room location at Kidani village and why?

Question #2: :confused:is it possible to request a specific area of the building and if so how do you go about doing so?

Question #3: we have stayed at CSR resort a number of times and for breakfast, I would stroll over to the rix cafe and pick up fresh fruit, cereal and these really good chocolate chip muffins and bring them back to our room before everyone else woke up for breakfast. I am wondering if there is a similiar facitliy at Kidani village where I can purchase this kind of food or do I have to walk over to the main building at AKL?

Thanks for all your help in advance

Assume you have savanna view. If so request close to lobby. That puts you close to restaurant, store, community hall, pool, bus stop. It also gives you view ofunset savanna which has giraffes. Pembe to the N/NW side of resort does not but all of its rooms are far from lobby. Either wing close to lobby will put you near an animal feeding area so you will see animals nearby. If you like lower floor view (as many do) also request lower floor.

If you don't request close to lobby you can easily end up far from lobby and at Kidani that means a very long walk (over 1/4 mile.

we were in Rafiki at Kidani, and our view was at the pool. it was the midpoint. Timon would be closer to the lobby. 7827-- one bedroom. --standard view. I would love a savannah view in the Rafiki area because that is where they feed the giraffes! :)

last June we were in the second to last room waaaaay at the end of the loooong hall (and I though the Boardwalk halls were long) and it was a serious haul!!! I measured it out with my pedometer and it was just over a quarter mile. request close to the elevator....good luck!

As to a couple other questions: you make any requests (not guaranteed) when you call to make a reservation. Requests like close to lobby are often met. Narrow requests like certain room numbers are most often met with disappointment. The only place to get those morning things you like is at Mara at Jambo and the walk is not likely something you want to do every morning (about 1/2 mile front door to front door; if you were to get a room far from lobby at end of south wing, you would be closer to Jambo, about 1/4 mile)

:surfweb:Thanks for all the info:yay:

I will contact the ressie folks at DVC and request a room on the Jambo side of the building close to the lobby.

The morning walk for muffins and fruit, well we'll have to see about that, we do have a couple of morning breakfast ressies so i wont have to hike those ams, but will probable do so on the other mornings:eek:
