So next July (July 1-6)we are taking two of our nephews who are not related to Disney world... We have a Savannah view studio booked... One is 18 one will be 8... We obviously don't want them sleeping together so we thought we could put a air mattress down... But it doesn't look like there will be any room unless they move the table... Could I ask the hotel to do that... Because i don't want to borrow 70 points to get a one bedroom... December 1 is our 7 month booking date and I don't think there will be anything available that sleeps 5 Thanks

Don’t know about any of the above except to say years ago my husband and I stayed in an AK Kidani SV Studio for 2 nights - we thought it was way too small for just the 2 of us - haven’t stayed in a studio since then!!

I think asking them to remove the table should work fine.

I think that as long as you only have the appropriate number of listed people in the room, and you aren't sneaking in an extra person (which many of us HAVE done), then you should be able to do anything you want. Amazon sells a fold up cot that can fit a child of 8. You could order it and have it delivered directly to Kidani Village the day of your arrival or the day before.

I believe a twin air mattress would fit by the connecting door to the 1 BR. You could just lean it against the door in the day time to put it out of the way. Or you could leave the pullout couch closed and have one sleep on the couch and the other sleep on the floor below on the air mattress.

Also you could wait list a studio that sleeps five at another resort.

Just stayed in Kidani for 8 nights in a studio, wife and older daughter. Quite frankly I think an air mattress anywhere in the room would be tight. If you open the couch(bed) there is not going to be much room to move around should anyone get up at night for any reason. Should someone sleep on couch un-opend it might work but those couches are not very comfortable to lay on. Also we had Savanna view room 7977. Great for animals but about a 1/4 mile to lobby area. Just so you should know. Of course covered parking was GREAT!!!

Speak for yourself. Many of us wouldn't think of stuffing a villa with extra people.

Shame on you, Fred.

I will admit, that most of the time when we have done it, it was because we had a young child. Generally less than 4, and they weren't going anywhere or doing anything without us. It was no problem if they were under 3, because Disney allowed infants up to 3. But we just didn't see why a few months one way or another should make a lot of difference, especially since they were taking up no more room than they had at less than 3 years old.

But, let me also say, that we almost never did that. We usually have either traveled with 4 people or 8 (including the children), so we have usually stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, or 2 studios or a 2 bedroom condo. We are going to Disney World in October and will have 9 or 10 people, total. (Probably will be 10, including one child that is 3) but we got two studios at Poly because they hold up to 5 people each.

Here is our typical travel pattern, just over the last year or so (we have up to 12 of us who travel, but rarely more than 8 or 9 at a time): Disneyland in July we had a 3 bedroom condo, 9 people. Disneyland in April, a 2 bedroom, 8 people. Disney World in May and June, 8 people, 2 hotel rooms on one and two Studios on one. Disneyland last November, 2 studios (at Grand Californian). Disney World last October, 2 hotel rooms. Disneyland last August, 2 bedroom Condo, Disneyland July 2017, 2 studios. Disney World a year a and a half ago in May, 3 hotel rooms.

As you can see, we travel a lot, I spend a ton on hotels, condos and DVC (which is why I have over 1000 DVC points, and 28,000 timeshare points with Worldmark [Worldmark is one of the better Timeshare Companies, but I SOO MUCH prefer DVC]) so, maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't felt bad if we pushed the boundaries a little bit, once in a while.

I'm not saying it's right, but, again, I'm sure there are lots of people who have done it. And, you will notice that I pointed out to the person who posted, that they were WITHIN THE CARRYING CAPACITY FOR THE ROOM, so, since the didn't have extra people, they shouldn't feel bad about rearranging the bed space. At least that is my opinion

i would spring for the extra points if you can. a studio with 3 adults is tight. we can do it with 2 adults and 2 kids but we now find ourselves wanting more space. its possible to do what you want if you have the right mindset.

Just an excuse to get away with something. You said it wasn't right. Why do it unless you think you are privileged?

I understand your perspective.

I think that gets a little complicated for a resort to remove furniture and put it back - even assuming they would. I'd just try and find a place to keep it within the villa or to put the air bed in a place that maybe is a bit odd - like by the door - vs ask for the table to be removed.

I wouldn't do so even if you're within the limit allowed. I'd either get 2 studios or a 1 BR that worked for the group.

They shouldn't feel bad from a system standpoint but it'll be difficult and awkward. It often costs more to be honest.

I would check for sure on Dec 1 at 8am Eastern for one of the resort’s that have the pull down in the studio, and if not available do a wait list. Can’t hurt! You will still have plenty of time to work out a plan if it doesn’t happen. Good luck!

I think if you are prepared to have a little less space, then go for it!! We have a family of 6 and have often stayed in a studio that sleeps 5 plus a child under three. Was it tight? Sure. Did we care? NOPE! Did we still have a fabulous trip even though it wasn't spacious accommodations? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! So many extra points or more money spent on a room you are hardly in anyway! If you can get a studio that sleeps 5, all your problems would be solved, but if not...I don't see any reason why they wouldn't accommodate your request!

My wife and I will be on property next week so we are just gonna pop into Kidani to see #1 what we purchased and #2 ask the front desk if they could do that
