Kidani standard view studio - any suggestions

DH & I will be staying in a standard view studio in Kidani village for a few days in February before moving over to a one bedroom at SSR. We have never stayed at AKV before and I would love to hear any suggestions you may have for us

We will have a car but will be using WDW buses for the most part while we are there.

We had a standard view 1 bdrm this past october and requested to be near the lobby, closer to Jambo. Worked out well, because we were only 5 doors down from the elevator and could take the stairs straight down to the busses. It only took us 6 minutes to walk over to Jambo. Our room overlooked the entry to Kidani, which was fun people watching and we didn't have a noise issue.

We requested as close as possible to the pool last July. Had a wonderful view and if you looked off to the right, you could see animals in the savannah. It was a bit of a walk to the lobby and busses, but we loved the walk as we were able to enjoy the view of all the animals along the way. Hope you enjoy!

I keep hearing about "the walk" as if it is a very long walk... how far are we talking, worst case scenerio?

I would say that the furthest end of Kidani to the other is probably a mile but the furthest out standard room shouldn't be all the way at the end of the building. I would say that if you were as close to Jambo house as possible the walk to the lobby shouldn't be more than 3/4 mile.

Some suggestions for while you are there- take advantage of the tours they offer- their is one of the art at Kidani, a culenary tour at Sanaa and a different one at Jiko/Boma.

We stayed in 7208 at Kidani in Nov. It's a Savannah view but should give you an idea on room number location. It was very close to the elevators and door to the walkway to the buses. Perfect location for us. It was a little bit of a hike to get to the pool but not too much farther than some of the other DVC resorts.
