Kidani Room Requests?

I'll be there in ONE WEEK! With my mom, sister, and two boys (4 and 6 year olds). My mom recently (6 months ago, but I still see her favoring the other leg) had knee surgery (is insisting she doesn't need a scooter and if she feels she needs one while there is planning on renting from park). So... I know the halls are long at Kidani. What's the best request I should make? Close to the lobby? Is that close to a food court, the pools, and a bus stop? Close to Jamba house?

I've looked at the maps and really can't tell what would be better. Anyone with experience care to offer their opinions?

Kidani Village does not have quick service dining, that only exists at Jambo House. There is a limited selection of food at the pool bar.

I will give you my two scenarios. We have stayed there twice. My first trip, I requested close to the lobby. We were the 1st Ded 2BR off the lobby My second trip- no request- no car- we were the 6th bead out. It was a he*l of a walk at the end of the night! Moral of the story. Request close to bus stop or lobby. If you will have a car, request close to elevator to parking garage (under the building).

Also, if you have a savana view, which savana do you prefer? Our two trips had us on two different savanas.

The two Savannas at Kidani Village are the Sunset and the Pembe. The Sunset Savanna is the main savanna at KV. The Pembe is very small and will be a very long walk to the lobby. The Pembe is the only Savanna at AKV that has Okapi and Red River Hogs, but no Giraffes.

Pembe and Sunset

Pembe had okapi, red river hogs, impala, waterbuck, blue cranes, and spur-winged geese.

Sunset had the giraffe, zebra (and it says these, but I'm not sure which we saw-Bongo, Impala, Thompsons Gazelles, Ostrich, Ankole Cattle, Waterbuck, African crown cranes, stork and blue cranes)

If you google Kidani village map it will give you a layout of the resort and show where each view is. You may also want to request a specific savanna. The red river hogs were fun to watch, especially at feeding times. However, I am partial to giraffes and zebras.
