Kidani room request (check in or on reservation)

Should I wait and make a room request on arrival (about 8am on October 9th) or should I have my sister (who owns the DVC points) call and make the request on our reservation?

Where exactly is the rafiki elevator located? It seems to be the one everyone mentions but I can't find a map with it marked. Is it between the 2nd and 3rd or the 3rd and 4th block in the North wing?

If I request a pool view, upper floor, near the elevator what would the chances be of getting that type request filled?

You have way too many requests IMO, I'd list just one primary request.

As for when you should do it, do it now, at check-in the room is pretty much already assigned and although there are chances you could request a different room, most often this doesn't work.

DVC is meant to be close to 100% occupancy all year long, so they don't have as much downtime as a normal hotel, so room availability for swapping often is not as easy.

I just asked her to request pool view. I dont really care what floor but I think the kids want to swim and I dont want to hear the buses at 6am. Id love 5th floor so no one is walking above me but i wont push my luck with a detailed request.

You obviously have a standard view. Any "pool" view room puts you close either to the Rafiki elevator or the elevator just off the lobby so you don't need that "close to elevator" request unless you consider walking up to 60 yards to an elevator way too much.

The fewer or more general the requests the higher the chance of getting it. You, however, probably could have kept both pool view and upper floor.

The good news is that no matter where your room ends up, the walking distance is staggeringly less than any theme park walking.

We were @ Kidani a few weeks ago. Loved it. My only request was "Top Floor". I thought our room in the Timon section was perfect; it was half way b/w the Kidani and Jambo lobbies.
