Having a hard time between picking Kidani or SSR in a 2 bedroom for 4 nights.
Its part of a split stay with the last 5 nights in 2 studios at Jambo.

Thoughts on Kidani or SSR?

I was immediately going to write Kidani, but if you are already in Jambo...give SSR a try. Any other options?
No other options. I’m definitely willing to give SSR a chance. I really love the new look of the rooms. It just feels discouraging reading on how it’s everyone’s least favorite. But we love Disney springs, see it like another park almost so that being in walking distance is attractive.

The renovations are excellent and the paddock pool area is a very good 2nd pool with slide/food/bar/kids water play in addition to feature pool.
It used to be our least fav and now it’s pretty high on the list. 3 stays in the past year.

Kidani, no question. The rooms are HUGE and you can see the Savannah. Having walked through SSR, they have nothing to match the savannah. They are closer to DS and you can take a boat there, but you can't see the savannah.

Not sure when you are traveling but be aware the High Rock Pool at SSR is going to be under refurbishment late this year and early next year.

We are traveling in June! When is the refurb going to start?

Both are great resorts and have pro/cons but if you’re already staying at Jambo house, give SSR a try next.

You should be fine for June. We will be at SSR in June and the pool is supposed to be open.

Since you love Disney Springs give SSR. Will you have a car? Since you're already at Jambo I think the only reason I'd pick Kidani is for ease of transferring if you don't have a car. We love Kidani and will also be there in June though. lol

Butter pecan is my least favorite flavor of ice cream. I really like butter pecan. Both of these statements can be true!

I happen to like SSR a lot. It has a vibe of quiet sophistication that is relaxing but in a very subtle way. I want my resort to be an escape from the go-go-go of the theme parks, so I tend to like the "remote" resorts a little more than most people. This last visit I took more advantage of its proximity to Disney Springs to walk over to a wide variety of restaurants and some darn good entertainment, including a live concert at House of Blues.

I think people sometimes confuse "it is easy to book" with "it is not any good." Especially at the Standard location point charts, it is a good way to stretch points in larger units.

Lol we love Disney Springs & go as often as we can whenever we visit. & we also love to walk around the resorts so the size of it doesn't really turn me off, if anything it encourages us more as there are more walking paths.

We won't really have a car so mainly relying on bus transportation or lyfts/uber.

It's 8 of us all together & I really love that SSR has the murphy beds. We slept on the ones in Riviera last year and it was great and so much better then the pull out sofas.

I guess part of me really wants to try out a 2 bedroom stay at Kidani because of the 3rd bathroom & I have a soft spot for AKV as its our home resort.

I would do SSR for DS, but Kidani does have a 3rd bathroom which is helpful especially if it's mostly adults trying to get ready in the morning.

Our first stay with DD SIL and GD was at SSR before a cruise.

Since then we have done 2 bedrooms in December. DD always gets to pick where we book.

The first year was Kidani, envisioning coffee on the balcony each morning. We did that but even the granddaughter wasn't as interested as we thought. The buses are horrible.

The next year was back to SSR

Last December sitting by the Paddock pool I told DD, really, how about we try for a split stay, we love Poly, or GF, even for a couple days?
Her answer- Mom, I just really love it here.

This year, it's again at SSR. We tried to convince her of BC after taking GD there in Jan and her loving the pool and walk to Epcot/Studios. Or walking/monorail to MK from one of the MK resorts. But, she is just a no go.

Now, I might add that last year after being there after the renovation, DD (40) had the biggest smile on her face after seeing the master bathroom/tub that she came into our room and gave us hugs saying how happy she was and thanking us again.

DD has a soaking tub at home that is just as big and shiny but apparently, she just really does love SSR.

The buses can be horrible here too, but at least we can walk to DS. The SSR back office hinted that the spa may be opening soon (this based on conversation with them last week). Waaaaaay better than the "spa" at AKL.

Enjoy your stay wherever you choose to visit!

Just back from first stay @ SSR. Really enjoyed everything about the resort (quiet, renovated rooms, proximity to DS, good quick service, park near your room). Owner @ BCV but now considering a resale purchase @ SSR.
