Hi all, gonna spend one night at AKL to close off our DVC trip with some animal views….. in a studio. What are the advantages of each: Kidani vs Jambo? Does one have better savannah views than the other? We've never stayed there before so any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I am by no means an expert, because there are people who have every possible savannah view memorized, but I am sort of partial to the Jambo House. I like the lobby better. I like the general animal viewing area better. I like the Mara, Boma, and Jiko. I even like the pool better. I was fortunate enough to stay in a reclassified standard view last year and I thought the view of the savannah (facing directly towards Kidani) was wonderful.

Honestly, you will probably love both so why not try them each at different times and make sure you use both pools.

Enjoy!

Jambo studios are only on the 5th floor (or 6th floor if Concierge)
Kidani can be floors 2-5, so you might be lower, and a bit closer to the animals.

But Jambo has more dining options, including the CS restaurant, so I generally prefer Jambo for a studio.

I have stayed in studios at both and I much prefer Kidani. While I agree with MEK about Jambo's lobby and the restraraunts, I prefer the rooms at Kidani, they are slightly larger and as hakepb said you can get lower rooms. The viewing area at kidani I feel is better and I much prefer the fire pit there as well. I can't speak about the pools however. You won't go wrong at either so flip a coin if it makes it easier.

It sounds like you are specifically asking about the view from your room. Is so, Kidani offers better savanna room views in our opinion.

Yes, I was asking more specifically about the room view, but all of that info helps me out a lot! Thank you! :cool1:

The other view factor is timing. Each day, the animals take a visit to their "barn" for a daily checkup. If you are only on your balcony during breakfast, you might not see animals on the sunset savanna (most of Kidani's rooms)
Overall, savanna view is more appreciated if you plan to view animals at various times per day.

I prefer views from Kidani due to layout of resort. I just find the views better and since Kidani was built with all the servicing stuff concealed (in the garages, I think), i don't have to worry about seeing any behind the scenes stuff.
