Kidani or Jambo for Best Savannah View?

We're currently at BLT for our pre-cruise next Feb., but now since our waitlist for BLT came through for September we're thinking of doing our first stay at Animal Kingdom. Daughter *really* wants to see giraffe's. What's our best bet--Jambo or Kidani?

Thanks in advance--and sorry to anybody who read this before editing and found it made no sense whatsoever---I'm in I'd rather be at Disney World mode today!

I would guess Jambo. You need to find out where the giraffe feeding stations are.

Kidani Village if it's giraffe's your daughter wants to see! At Kidani Village there's only two large Savannah's - one has the giraffe's mostly & that is the Savannah on the right side (but they obviously can walk over to the other side, it's not fenced off or anything). At Jambo House the giraffe's use ALL of the Savannah's, but i think they use 'Sunset Savannah' more because it's the same Savannah they use for Kidani Village.

We DID see Giraffes at Jambo but saw far more at Kidani. Don't know if that was just luck.

My personal opinion....Kidani has better views. Jambo offers more in resort amenities, but Kidani has better savannah views.

I think I've seen more giraffes when I've stayed at Kidani, but I've definitely seen them as well at Jambo too.

Kidani has hands down the better Savanna view!

I stayed at Jambo for the first time in April. Was VERY glad I didn't bother with a savanna view! I liked the convenience of the smaller resort/Mara. But if I'm going to fork over the points for a savana view...it will be at Kidani!

I've stayed at Kidani 5 times now. There are more animals around (or so it seems!) I like staying a bit lower.... at Jambo, the DVC rooms are only on floors 5 and 6. Great view of the treetops.... less so of the animals under them!

I felt that at Jambo, with the exception of the Arusha Savanna, many of the savannas felt more like a zoo!!! The giraffes congregate at the end of the zebra trail... so your DD will see lots there, but you'll also be looking at all the chain link fences that seperate the savannas from each other and the back enclosure.

The savannas at Kidani are much better done IMHO. There are lots of giraffes about as well. Like your DD, I am a giraffe nut. AKV opening is what finally made me pull the trigger and buy into DVC! She will see giraffes at both. If you choose Jambo, try fr an Arusha view.... but take a walk down to the very end of the zebra trail, and go into the stairwell (its outside). You will see lots of giraffes there!

I stayed at Jambo last October and Kidani this May.

I agree, Sunset Savannah view at Kidani is definitely best for viewing giraffes and many other animals!

I found during the day Kidani is better for seeing giraffe, but not all day as they keep moving along.

But for night viewing I'd go with Jambo: we had a pair that slept right outside our value room nightly, one would rest his/her head in a tree.

Just got back from 6 nights at Jambo. We saw lots of giraffe's. Not sure if we were lucky or that is the norm.
