Kidani Dreams - An April 6-15 PTR -Name Tags!!-Updated 3/28

Last time I rode space mountain I thought I was going to end up with whiplash, the ride was so jerky . That was a few years ago and I don't plan on riding it again.
I 'm surprised at the people mover pic, I've never seen so many people on the attraction at once.

I really wish there was a way to make it a smoother ride. I have read that if you sit in the back car, that it is bumpiest there. I MIGHT try it again and ask to sit up front and see if that helps.

That people mover pic was from our June trip, so it was a busy day. We didn't have to wait though from what I remember.

Joining in; will be back later to catch up.

:welcome: I saw in your signature that you are going back in 7 days .... and with the girls !! I am sooo jealous !! Old Key West is lovely. We really loved it there. Thanks for stopping by !!

DD and DH won’t ride the faster rides. I get this about DD. But DH ?? I don’t understand his line of thinking here. I mean he won’t ride Space Mountain or Expedition Everest, but he is in Colorado this week skiing – double black diamond slopes. Seriously, it makes no sense. I mean wouldn’t you agree that riding a Disney rollercoaster is safer than skiing practically vertical down a mountain in subzero temps ?? It defies logic….

That's man logic for you. Of course I can't really talk. I'd NEVER put two sticks on my feet and go down a mountain, however doing this on a snowboard doesn't seem like a bad idea eventhough it is allegedly more difficult to have control on snowboard. I think it is the illusion of control of the wider board that makes it seem okay to me.

If I may, I suggest making alternative b'fast plans on the day you plan to eat at the Mara. I wasn't at all impressed. In fact, of all the resorts we've stayed in, it is the worst CS place IMO. It wasn't too bad for dinner, but b'fast left a lot to be desired.

Yay you are here!!! You are so right about the man logic. DH is full of it. So noted on breakfast at the Mara. DH and the kids are perfectly fine not having breakfast. But I have that low blood sugar thingy, so i have to have something. We just plan on having pastries or something to hold us over until lunch.

What did you have there that you didn't like?

Sunday (Easter), April 8, 2012 – Day 3 – Part Two

So meal plans for this day are as follows:

Breakfast – probably Mara again for a quick breakfast – MK opens at 8 AM.

animal_kingdom_lodge_mara.jpg

Lunch – ADR at:

Liberty-Tree-Tavern-Exterio.jpg

wdwfeb7-202.jpg

We have never eaten here, so I am really excited about it.
Dinner – not sure what we will do for dinner.

Maybe head over to DTD and eat at WPE.

100_3755.jpg

Possible snack options – of course the popcorn for DD

100_2627.jpg

Maybe a dole whip for me

DSC00536.jpg

I tried one for the first time at Captain Cook’s at the poly in November and I very much enjoyed it.

The kids like the Mickey ice cream bars of course.

mickey_ice_cream_bar.jpg

DS likes pretzels

DSC00699.jpg

And these popsicle thingys

DSC00490.jpg

And the root beer floats. Those are really yummy

DSC01024.jpg

That’s about it for food on this day. Going to go get a snack because now I am hungry.

Where is that rootbeer float from, i'd like one now:goodvibes

The shop next to the Stitch attraction - Auntie Gravity's I think. Made with soft serve ice cream. OMG .... it was so good. It filled you up too. A good use of a snack credit. Also those frozen cokes are really good. Or the frozen lemonade. From the Lunching Pad right under the Astro Orbiter. Really refreshing on a hot day.

STOP POSTING DELICIOUS LOOKING PHOTOS OF FOOD AS I'M ABOUT TO LEAVE FOR WORK!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao: Oh man, now I want a Dole Whip. Do we think I have enough time for a quick trip to Aloha Isle before 8:30?

I would rather havew a chocolate croissant in the morning. But I really enjoyed the dole whips for an afternoon snack. That answers another one of my questions about your trip :cool1: !! Aren't they soooo yummy ??? I just love me some food porn. I can wait until you get to that part in your TR to find out if you rode TSM.

Vinylmation !!!

Our last trip, the kids, DS especially, developed an admiration for vinylmation. DS bought this one on sale for about $5 from Dundries Sundries at the Boardwalk where we stayed (LOVED it BTW)

DSC00322.jpg

And the fascination was born. Here are some of the ones they bought and
traded while we were there.

Some of those were traded. We probably brought home about 5 or 6 that the kids wanted to keep.

They really got into trading them. I thought they were kinda meh at first, but when I started paying attention, I started to come around and now I like them. They have some on sale at the disneystore.com for about $5 or $6, one was even $1.99, so I bought some for the kids to use as trades when in April. We will have fun with them.

Monday, April 9, 2012 Day 4– Part One

Hollywood Studios !!!

hollywood-studios-picture-008.jpg

This is DS’s favorite park !!

His favorite ride is:

100_1694.jpg

I ride this sometimes with him. I really have to be in the mood, though. He rides the single rider line if I’m not feeling it.

I am sure we will join the melee and head on over to Toy Story Mania to get our ride on.

DSC00756.jpg

The kids like Star Tours and DH will ride with them

DSC00767.jpg

DSC00803.jpg

It makes me sick, so I don’t ride it. I love the ride, but I get too motion sick for it to be worth it. I even took a Dramamine last time and it still didn’t help.

We all love the Great Movie Ride.

DSC00795.jpg

The last several times we have gotten a really bad actress. The same one three times. Seriously, folks, this chick is really bad. Her gangster accent is terrible and you can’t hear a word she says even with the microphone on. Some of those people project so well that they don’t need a microphone. We are always disappointed to see her. Hope we don’t get her again.

Anywho – moving on ……

DH likes the Lights Motors, Action car show, but the rest of us don’t care much for it. So we will most likely skip it.

The kids LOVE the Honey I Shrunk the kids Playground, so I imagine we will spend some time in there.

100_4288.jpg

100_4292.jpg

I say every time that I am going to ride Tower of Terror and every time I chicken out

imagestot.jpg

We will see what happens this time. While we were waiting for the kids to get off the ride last time, I overheard a man telling his wife that, “it is like having your stomach shoved up into your brain five or six times in a row”. So I dunno.

We might do the Backlot Tour if we have time. DH likes it.

100_1780.jpg

100_1782.jpg

I definitely want to try the drawing class again. I loved it so much the last time we did it.

100_1802.jpg

And that will probably be about it. We are usually back at the resort by 2 or 3 PM to swim after this park. So that is what we will do.

I always want to try that drawing class, and I always forget about it! It looks so fun! Your DHS plans sound great! (Although, I did notice a distinct lack of cupcakes or other pastries...;))

We have only done the drawing class once and I sooo want to do it again. Very enjoyable !!

Don't you fret - part two of this day will have food plans. Stay tuned :happytv:

What did you have there that you didn't like?

I had the African b'fast. I didn't care for it, but my issue wasn't so much with the quality but the selection of dishes. It was very limited for all meals. By far the fewest choices of any CS place at any resort we've tried. I thought Roaring Forks was light on the selection, but the Mara makes that place seem like a smorgasboard.

We will give it a shot and back up and punt if we don't like it. Did you get zebra domes?? If so, dud you like them??

I had a small taste of one at Boma. I wish I hadn't...it was soooo good!!! It is a dessert with dairy, therefore it is off limits for me. Now I know what I'm missing out on. :(

BTW...looks like we'll be going in June. Exact dates TBD, but will be there the 25-27 for sure. I think we'll be staying at Yacht Club. Pretty excited about that.

That is exciting. I would LOVE to stay there. We went last year during that time and even though it was hot we really enjoyed it. I wish we could come and spend time with you but DH can't get much more time off since he is taking some skiing trips this year.

Looking forward to some zebra domes !!

Monday, April 9, 2012 Day 4– Part Two

So our meal plans for this day are:

Starring Rolls for breakfast.

contemp-laundry-ohana-starringrolls-backstageexp-172.jpg

We keep planning to go here, but never get the opportunity.

It looks like they have chocolate croissants, so I am definitely in !!

starring_rolls_cafe2.jpg

I have read its gets crazy busy in there in the mornings, so we will have to get there early.

Our back up plan will be

100_4230.jpg

Writer’s Stop !!

And the famous carrot cake cookie

100_4232.jpg

100_4234.jpg

Our Lunch ADR is for

50s_Prime_Time_Cafe_at_Disneys_Hollywood_Studios-1.jpg

We have not ever eaten here either and I really think the kids would enjoy it, so we are looking forward to that.

For dinner, we have an ADR for

BOMA_1_998.jpg

I know that DH will enjoy this, but I hope they have enough plain things for the kids to eat. It is at our resort and we are checking out the following day, so this is a good choice for us. I am sure it will be good. We always seem to get enough to eat at the buffets.

There is plenty of food the kids will like. When we went there was spaghetti, chicken and perhaps some sort of pizza in the "kid" section of the bar. They had other items as well, but those are things I remember. My super picky DD tried some of the chicken from the "adult" section as well. She really enjoyed Boma and wants to go back, which is saying something. Truth be told though, it is probably for all the amazing desserts.
