Kidani 2bdr---or Jambo?

I was just looking at pics of Kidani and contemplating a change to Jambo. Yesterday they had 2 bdrs avail in both and I chose Kidani. I guess I was thinking the pool would be more like a SAB area- with the no pool hopping rule. Also we have the Quick service dining plan and use the resort mugs a lot.

We are used to WL where the Quick Service is pretty convenient (2 minute walk). This sounds like we will have to get on a bus to get coffee or a drink.

Anyone have any idea how far the walk is between the two buildings?

Also..according to this map it looks like the two bedrooms are right off the lobby? That would be a plus. Where are the two bedroom savana view rooms in Jambo?

It's about a half mile between the main entrance of each building.

If you are used to walking in the parks, it wont be bad. It really depends on where you are in Kidani. Since the units that are opening first are nearest Jambo, I'd say you wont have too much trouble. Just walk out one lobby, along the roadway/walkway to the other lobby, and there you are. It wont be nearly as far as walking the length of the hallways in EITHER Jambo or Kidani!

Thanks. We did have one of the last units (furthest from the elevators) at BCV's and it was quite a walk to the lobby. But very convenient to Epcot entrance. We really never went down to the QS and did a lot of cooking/cleaning etc.

Maybe they could have a little tram go back and forth.

No tram. If I remember correctly, the theme park buses will go from Kidani to Jambo then to the park. The Downtown Disney buses will go from Jambo to Kidani then to DTD.

Though the pool was never touted to be a Stormalong Bay, it is quite large -- those two pictures you see in the thread are showing two entirely different areas of the pool which appears to wrap around the area that includes the slides.

Second, despite what the CM says he was told there is definitely a sidewalk in front of the Kidani building that goes to Jambo, meaning you can walk between resorts. It is shown in the tour guide/map. Disney has previously said that the walk from door to door is about 1/2 mile. Not something to do just to refill mugs.

In Jambo, most rooms are 2BR lock-offs and located throughout. All the standard rooms overlook the pool so any of them are automatically fairly close to the lobby. If you have savanna view, you can request close to the lobby but fact is that savanna view is better from the rooms as you move away from the lobby.

Also, the 2BRs in Kidani will have 3 bathrooms vs. 2 at Jambo, and the 2BR Kidani units are about 100 sq. ft. larger than the Jambo units. Its also my understanding that there is no pool hopping at AKV, just usage for the 2 buildings

Well, looking at those pix make me glad I'm staying at Jambo during our upcoming trip! Doesn't look that "special" from early pictures, and I'm looking forward to being where the action is, like all the restaurants.

I am still betting that they do an expanded CS menu at the pool snack bar like they have initiated at FW

might stick with Kidani - especially for a 2-bedroom. they are bigger.

there is a grocery store - Publix at OL, really, really close - that say expecting Disney to put up a fence. but if not you could walk over to it.
