How does it work for tickets and meals when a kid turns 3 in the middle of a stay? Is it free the first half and then we pay for her the rest of the stay?

This happened to us during our first ever Disney trip. They pay the price they were when the trip first starts for the entire trip. So if they are two when you check in, they are considered two for the entire trip. Awesome right?

That's awesome and will allow us to stay at Disney longer or treat ourselves a little more if we don't have to pay for our youngest.

Free as long as you check in before they turn 3! We're planning a trip in 2016 and checking in the day before my youngest turns 3 just for that reason!

The same is true if you bring your child just before they turn ten. They're still the child rate and don't switch to the adult price.

Oh I'm so glad I read this! I'm thinking of taking my dd for her 3rd birthday but would get there a few days prior!

It may not be relevant to anyone here, but I have noticed that the Disney International site (used for non US bookings) now asks for the child's age at the return date, not the date of travel as it has always been :rolleyes2
