Kid swap ride question

Hello everyone. I am due to make my fast passes on Wednesday and I have never done kid swap we are a party of 3 adults and a 17 month old. Can someone please explain how this works? TIA

The people who will ride first can ride either with a fp or without. Book only the first group for fp if using fp. When you approach the ride you will go to the cast member at the entrance to the ride line and ask for a swap pass. They will either give you a paper swap pass then or a lanyard to be exchanged at the end of the line for a paper swap pass. Once the first group has ridden the second group will enter the fp line with the paper swap pass. You do not need to use it right away.

Make sure the adult staying with the 17 month old walks up to the cast member at the beginning of the line with you when you request the rider swap pass. Once you have it, or they give you the lanyard to hold onto, the adult staying with the child can also leave with the child and go do something else while the rest of the party rides the ride the first time. This is a good opportunity to take the child to get a snack, a diaper change, run around, or on a age appropriate ride.
