Okay, feeling a little stupid here, again

I've priced out several dates with different length of stay and ticket days, and compared with the current "spring discount." They pretty much seem to end up with similar costs, though sometimes one or the other isn't available for a room/date.
For example, during Easter week / Spring Break, WL ended up being $3421 on kid-size vs. $3431 on spring discount.
Spring discount makes sense to me. But I have no clue how kid-size is calculated. A set of June dates I priced out at ASMu came to $1666 on both/either discount.
Does anyone understand the calculation of the Kid-size package? Can you explain it to me?
