My oldest daughter just turned 10. She is officially an adult at Disney world!! Anyway, I am wondering about the counter service kid meals. They say they are for kids 9 and under. However, my DD doesn't like adult food she would prefer the mac cheese instead of a Turkey and Muenster Cheese on Foccacia. Do the Disney Police check for this? I don't mind paying for her to eat I just wonder if they offer adult mac cheese?

Also wondering about the dining plan. It does not seem worth it to me since my oldest is ten and would be charged as an adult. There are 5 of us (3 "adults" and 2 kids) and we are pretty frugal when it comes to eating out until we actually go on vacation and seem to throw caution to the wind! We do have reservations at 2 character meals which will be 300.00. I believe to add the dining plan on would be an extra 1364.00 for 8 days. Does that sould right? :confused3

I thought I would post this on the family site instead of the restaurant site because I thought families might have more insight!

THANKS! princess: :wizard: :hippie: :hippie: :hippie:

At counter service you should not have a problem. My DSIL goes every year by herself and frequently orders the kids meals at counter service. She is not a big eater to begin with and the heat makes her even less hungry. She has found the the kids meals are the right amount for her.

I have ordered kids meals for myself for a snack at counter service they dont know and dont really ask.

At restaurants if they ask you might have to tell them but if they put a child's menue down in fron tof her I wouldn't worry about.

Just want to add to the other posts:

Most restuarants in and out of the world don't care if you order off the kids menu. At most, they just won't throw in the free drink &/or dessert that may come with the meal. They want customers to be happy. At buffets though, you're generally stuck.

There is no way they can know who the food is for at counter service. At Sit Down you might have issues but I would still ask.

The Dining Plan is 37.99 per adult per night booked and 10.99 per child (3-9) per night booked. If you planned on 2 character meals the Dining Plan can be used towards the character meals. You said you are booked for 8 days, does that mean you have 7 nights booked?

7 nights
37.99 x 3 x 7 = 797.79
10.99 x 2 x 7 = 153.86
Total 951.65

8 nights
37.99 x 3 x 8 = 911.76
10.99 x 2 x 8 = 175.84
Total 1087.60

The dining plan may be worth it for you.

I tend to be a pickey eater, and wondered about ordering off the kids menu at adult size or price and was told that Disney is very accomodating, so now DH won't have to suffer trying different places because I'll have my out too.

We will be there 8 days (the first day will be a half day) and leave after the 8th night. We are starting to think the dining plan would be better for us because we can graze and share meals!

Thanks for the info!

We are getting so excited!

3 more months (still seems so far away)
