Hi, I'm new to the site so this had probably been discussed, but can someone please tell me some ideas for putting personal info (cell phone #s) on DD2? We visited WDW last Dec. when she was 20 mo. but now she is 2 1/2 and very active. We have about 2 1/2 weeks until trip! TIA!

Here is the link to a very recent helpful discussion of this topic. That thread prompted me to buy Tottoos which have already arrived. I think they will work well :)

My DS will be 20 months when we go in September and is already very active. How did your DD do last year? Any advice for me?

the Tottoos is what I was going to suggest. I haven't bought any yet, but before our next trip I plan to. Our DS5 knows our cell numbers, but you never know if he can recite it if he is lost and scard, so better safe than sorry...and he loves temporary tattoos.

The company was started by a mom in the Metro DC are who came across a lost child at a Redskins game that didn't know a number for her and security to call to get the parents. It took a while to locate them. Pretty cool concept. In the past I have used dog tags (military style) and hospital ID bracelents. But I really like this idea!

Thank you for the link and ideas. The tattoos sound great, I think my daughter would go for those over bracelets.:thumbsup2

Got this link from someone on here... they're custom made "I Support Stuff" rubber band bracelets. The best part? They don't have a minimum order! We ordered 5 of them for the girls for our trip, with my husband's name and cell phone number on them. You can get a varity of colors, so you can easilky choose one that you know your kids will wear.

No lie - on a WDW bus from AKL to MK last year we saw a mom whip up the shirts of both her kids & write a phone number on their chests with a Sharpie!

We also have put our information on an index card, folded it, and put it into the card holder part of a pin lanyard. We had our girls pick out the lanyard (so they would wear it) and put a pin on it. On the outside of the card, we put their name so that we could tell whose was whose.

We told the girls that if they ever get lost, to find a CM and give them the card. It did help that I am a former CM, so I pulled out my old badge to show them who was "safe" to talk to. I am sure that any CM (especially those in Town Hall) would be willing to have you show your child their tag so they know what to look for.

HTH.

We used the "dog tags" from the machines at Wallmart for my kids when they were smaller and my sil uses them now. She found a pink heart for my neice and a blue star for my nephew and attached them to the kids shoelace. It is small enough so nobody can read it but obvious enough that a CM would know its purpose. She put the childs first name and "mom's cell # and always carries her cell.

The kids love the shoe charms!

They recently added Disney designs that would be great for a WDW trip :)

Maybe I missed this, but where do you put the "totoo" on your child that you know others will look for it? I have a 16 month old DS and a 2 1/2 year old DS trying to figure out what to do for them.

Has anyone thought of getting a Disney dog tag from walmart and then sewing them on to crocs?

You could definately do that - just a few loops would do the trick. I think you could also put it on the strap and then slide it to the front. You could probably also attach the dog tag with a jibbitz but I would worry about it not being as obvious and a CM not noticing it. It stands out pretty well on a sneaker.

We are going down in 5 weeks. I had planned on using the rubber wrist bands and writing my cell and DH cell on the inside with a sharpie. Has anyone tried this. I'm wondering if it will wear off?

I have tried this on my youngest with ball point and sharpie and the numbers rub off. Try a few pens as a test before you go maybe you will have better luck.

We used Avery white mailing labels and wrote my husband's cell phone number and name on them.

"If Lost Call Charlie xxx-xxx-xxxx"

We put them on the back of my sons' shirts and luckily never lost a kid.
Many of the parents in line commented on what a good idea it was.
I can't take credit tho, I read about it on mouseforless.

Take a picture of your child each morning with your digital camera - you will have a quick reference to see exactly what they are wearing. Also, make sure you show your child what a castmember's name badge looks like. Tell them that if they become separated from you, they should find someone wearing that badge and tell them they are lost. You could also have them tell a mommy with kids - moms are usually good about helping.

re: ink rubbing off - I would stay away from any kind of ink if you go in the summer (or any time where the heat is more than what you're used to at home!) The neat thing about the rubber bands we used was that they were sweat- and water-proof. :)

Also, how would that work at a water park? Any kind of ink or sticker wouldn't last long there...

We bought the big name tags that are stickers and everyday I put one on the back of her shirt. If she saw it, she would peel it off, so I did it with out her noticing usually. I like the take the picture each morning idea. Someone also told me to take on in front of the room door and then they would know which palce the child was staying as well, if need be.

I just bought the bracelets from Shanrene. I ordered them Sunday night and we had them on Wednesday. We had "I'm Lost Call Mom xxx-xxx-xxxx" on one side and "I'm Lost Call Dad xxx-xxx-xxxx" on the other.

Once again - fabulous advice from the DISers! You all convinced me a bracelt and a sharpie just isn't going to cut it! Thank you it would have been awful to figure that out down there! I just ordered the wrist bands from Shanrene - easy and inexpensive. My children thank you for saving them from having black permanent ink on their wrists for a week!:goodvibes

Thank you so much for this info. We don't go until January, and have discussed several different options but were really not happy with the other things we had heard of and researched. This idea is great...both my kids love to have temp tattoos and since they are 4(DS) and 2-1/2(DD) they are able to take things off thier person if the idea hits...this is something they won't even think of after it's been put. I love it!...thanks again!:thumbsup2
