I have seen many post about having your kids go to the club the first night to make friends. I looked at the navigators on Barbs site and I can't see when there would be time.

We have early seating 6:30-?
then the show 8:30 -?
then Family dance party 9:45 - 11pm

I wouldn't really mind if my dd6 and dd7 didn't use the club at all, but if they want to they can and I wouln't want them to feel left out. To tell the truth when I look at the Navigators I don't see how there would be any time for them to be in the club between shore excurisions and them wanting to have a pool day, but I thought I'd find out what most of you do anyway.

Thanks!

We just took our first cruise and didn't even think about the club on the first day, except to let the kids take a tour of it. We were busy exploring the ship, getting settled and enjoying the DCL experience. Our DD went the next day and had no problems making friends.

I would suggest playing it by ear. But, don't feel it will ruin your cruise if the kids don't get their day one. Have a great cruise.

If they would like to go for a while - they could always eat quickly (the servers will bring their main course when they bring your appetizer if you ask) and you could run them to the club between courses. Even if they really want to see the show (my DS5 didn't care about seeing any of the shows except the "Disney" ones like Golden Mickeys, Disney Dreams and Hercules - so the 1st night variety show was OK for him to skip.) they could still spend about an hour at the club while you enjoy your dinner.

Our kids skipped the first night show (we were on a four day so it was Hercules). They would have liked it, but they really thought the sail away party in the kids clubs was a lot of fun.

There is a welcome party in the club/lab/stack on the first night. It's no big deal if you miss it. It is generally scheduled during late seating dinner for the 12 and under set--if you have late seating, let them go when they have finished eating. It is late at night for the teens.

Yes, it's nice to come and meet people, but if you're not there, you can meet people the next day!

Well I didn't even think to check the kids navigators. Now I see what everyone was talking about. I'm sure they would enjoy a special kids party. We will have to ee how it goes.

Thanks!
