Kid club age break down

I understand that the question of whether 10 year olds are allowed to go the Edge "depends" -- how many kids in the Edge, discretion of the management etc. But I do want to ask if anyone knows how this generally goes specifically on the Magic? We are cruising early April over Spring Break which I can only assume will be a full cruise. My oldest two (twins - girl and boy) turn 11 a few weeks after we sail. I suspect that my daughter would prefer the Lab but that my son would be more comfortable in the Edge.

I don't think anyone can say "generally on the Magic..." More likely "generally on a school-vacation/holiday cruise..." the Edge is more likely to be at capacity with 11-14 yr olds and therefore not allow 10 yr olds to move up. I'd honestly prepare them both for the Club/Lab, and once onboard if you discover the Edge is an option it's a bonus for your son.

Enjoy your cruise!

I am a Cast Member and yes 3 year olds are allowed into both the nursery and Club/Lab. Have a magical day!
Thank you. I felt that the change in wordage on the website (from "3 and under" to "under 3") and the crackdown on potty trained 2 year olds not being allowed in Oceaneer's seemed to indicate that 3 year olds would no longer be allowed access to the nursery.

Our niece will be two years and 11 months when we go on our cruise. Will they allow her in the 3-12 year old Club?

Unfortunately no. Disney started enforcing the rule that the child has to be 3.
There will be a few Open Houses where you can go as a family and she can enjoy the kids club.

On the flip side, there are people who don't like the huge spread in the clubs because there is such a big difference between a 3 year old and a 12 year old - and more than one person has posted on here that their children didn't want to go because of it (on both sides, though more on the older side where the kids didn't want to be with the little ones). There's never going to be a perfect answer.

Yea I see both sides. Last cruise the big spread was a problem. My three year old was very very overwhelmed by all the other children and wouldn’t go to the club. It definitely put a damper on our cruise to not have any opportunity for adult time.

On the other hand, for our planned cruise next year I’m glad for the spread. I doubt my youngest, who will be 5 when we sail would go into the club without her big sister. One of the reasons we chose DCL over Royal was that Disney wouldn’t split them up.

On the Dream and Fantasy, the kids move freely between the two spaces; on the Magic and Wonder a CM will walk the child to the other space on request.

On the Wonder, for certain, there is now a connecting hallway in the back so the kids can move freely between the two spaces. The front desk staff at either location also track exactly which area your kid is in by their magic bands. So you can show up at the Oceaneer's Lab front desk, and the staff will tell you your kid is in the Marvel area of the Oceaneer's Club, and vice versa, and you can go through the connecting hallway to get them. I'd assume the Magic is the same now.

Actually that "secret" passageway has always been there. There was a time it was used for storage. During that time the CMs would have to escort the kids "across the hall" to the other area. That was after DCL merged the two clubs. Then they cleared out the passageway and started using it again.

This was on the Magic 2013:

Yep -- the post you quoted is old. Thing change.
