kicked out of BC

We are on the land and sea in Oct and just recieved word we have been kicked oput of BC. We booked over a year ago and were looking forward to staying at the Bc. Has anyonle else on a land/sea ever been moved by DCL, is this the norm?

There was a thread over on the resorts board about this happening to someone else. She was offered an upgraded room at either AKL or Poly. I know that your resort choice is limited because of the land/sea package, but my hope is that they also gave you an upgrade.

How terrible! I'm planned to stay at the BC next May and I know my fiance' reallllly wants to stay there and no where else so if we got "kicked out" we might be a little saddened HOWEVER if they did offer us an upgraded room at the Poly instead, Disney would easily be forgiven!

Plans are sometimes made to refurbish hotel rooms after they have been booked...in that case, Disney always offers a move to either an upgraded room (in the case of a deluxe), or an upgraded resort (in the case of a value or moderate). Unfortunately, DCL books cruises farther ahead than WDW resorts schedules their refurbishings, which occasionally leads to some problems.

We've had 2 stays changed by Disney (one a land/sea, one a resort only). In each case, Disney gave us more than we had paid for as a "make it up to us" gesture. Of course, they also offered a full refund in the event that their other offer was not acceptable.

We were "kicked out" of a Tower room at the Contemporary on a land/sea a year or two ago and given a choice of a couple of other resorts, including WL, which is what we selected. When I received the confirmation, it stated we were in a "standard" room. I did a quick on-line comparison of the room values and called to inquire about the difference, only trying to at least get a woods-view since there was at least a $70/night difference from what I had to what I was being given at WL, if memory serves. I wasn't nasty about it at all - just asking about why. The CM put me on hold and a few minutes later came back with an upgrade to a 1BR suite at WL! She said that I had a point and that she appreciated my being pleasant about it!

Evidently the Contemporary had been completely phased out of the DCL land/sea packages, so everyone booked there through DCL was being relocated.

since they kicked us out of a standard room at the BC they gave us a nice upgrade. A concierge room at AKL!!!

What happened at the BC is there's a convention booked and DCL was given a block of rooms that was reserved for that group.

It's upsetting, but they are offering some amazing upgrades to compensate the guests impacted by this. Hopefully, everyone will be happy with the substitution.

That sounds awesome! If you have a chance, take advantage of the concierge Sunrise Safari! I hear it is awesome!

The Sunrise Safari IS awesome - as is the Sunset Safari. What a deal! I absolutely love Concierge at AKL. P.S. they have GREAT food also!!!! CM's are the best CM's on Disney property. This is really your lucky day!!

Sounds like an awesome "kicking out". I was concerned when I first read this post, but when I got to the part about the upgrade to AKL, I was impressed.

I would take that kinda "kicking out" any day.

This happened to us as well (I posted a topic titles "disney dilemma" if you want to search for it)
We made our reservations a year ahead of time and were still given the boot. With the help of a great TA and a great CM, we were upgraded from a standard room at BC to a concierge room, lagoon view, at Poly!

Wasn't quit as painful knowing i was "moving on up, to the east side"!

Hope your able to manage a good deal as well!

Having Stayyed at the AKL Concierge ...

u wont Be sorry , however the pool at beach Club is the best on Disney property ...
