Has anyone brought their own boards?

I'm talking about those half-surfboard type things with a lanyard and a leash.

We use those when we go to Destin, and they work great while snorkeling.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

We bring our own stuff - snorkel equipment, noodles and kickboard. Makes it a whole lot easier for us and often we leave the noodles/blow up tires and balls there so we don't have to pack them!

IF they fit in your suitcase, go right ahead! CC is a great place - so enjoy it fully when you get there!

Don't know why you would need a kick board. On CC, if you are snorkeling you are REQUIRED to wear a Buoyancy Compensator(BC). It's kinda like a life jacket that you can blow up as much or as little as you want. It doesn't take much air in it to keep you floating easily on the surface and it's easy to deflate if you want to dive under the water.

The Temperature and salinity of the water make it almost impossible not to float. But I assume a kickboard would make it even easier to stay out there longer.

Michael can't swim very well - so he stays in water that he can "walk in" but likes to hold on to the kickboard to make him feel like he's really swimming!!! (And yes, he has had swim lessons!)
