It depends for me. US version of KFC? Disgusting and easily one of the worst fast food restaurants. European KFC? Delicious. I've eaten KFC in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic and both were WAY better than the locations in the US.

Gross..got food poisoning from one on vacation in CA in 96--haven't gone near one since

Yumcky?

Interesting. KFC is big in Japan too, I'm curious what that's like. It's a actually a huge Christmas dinner tradition over there.

Agree with @Smugpugmug. I used to love KFC when I was growing up in Canada. It is a fond childhood memory of mine, getting Snack Packs with my grandma or ordering huge buckets of chicken for a family picnic at the wild animal park. I hadn't eaten KFC in years, and our son had never tasted it before, so we decided we would stop in one day for lunch. It was so awful. PLUS, the place we stopped at had everything pre-cooked and pre-portioned and just sitting in warming ovens. Nobody was in the back cooking anything, and it was only around 11 am or so. My entire childhood memory was erased during that one experience. We swore to never again go to KFC again...in the US at least.

I heard that too. Apparently you have to preorder your meal in advance since it's so big in Japan.

As for the Netherlands at least, I have an aunt that lives there and she said Dutch people LOVE KFC. I was skeptical about trying it since I was only familiar with the US version but it's actually really good over there.

They seem to have added some of their own items (though these are apparently from the grocery stores, but you'll never see these in the states).

It's good, but not my favorite. I used to love the "extra Tassty Crispy" but they got rid of that. Alos, your mileage can really vary from location to location. We have local fried chicken places her ein Memphis, and I'd rather hit those. In a hurry though, I do like those mashed potato bowls that KFC has.

Years ago, it used to be really good. Nowadays, though, the chicken is rubbery, greasy, and tasteless. The mashed potatoes are a congealed mass. Their coleslaw is watery. Their biscuits are cold and rock hard.

Chik-Fil-A is now what KFC used to be.

Decades ago, KFC meals used to come with dinner rolls rather than biscuits. Those dinner rolls were really good!

Both! About once a year I end up getting it, and I am full of regret. But I'll order it again in a year, even knowing this. Occasionally it's good, though, which helps perpetuate the cycle.

I'm going to send this to my aunt and ask her if she's ever seen these at her local grocery store. She makes pretty good Bitterballen and loves KFC so she'll love this LOL

We like it, but only have it a few times a year. I like original recipe and love the coleslaw. But there is a local chicken place we like better.

I actually like their Nashville hot tenders and a side of coleslaw...I don't really get much else from there though anymore. When I was younger we had it a lot more often.
