Keys to the Kingdom Tour/Utilidors Question

I took the tour 4 years ago ... I was with a larger group of friends that all took it together. we had a great guide & it was really fun. I don't seem to remember the utilidors being the be all, end all, thrill of all time ... but they were interesting, no doubt. I enjoyed other aspects of the tour more.

my son and husband took the tour a few months ago. I believe their experience was similar. they loved their guide. a side note to their tour -- there was a cast member (parade performer) in the group. when our family was at the MNSSHP later that evening, she saw our DS in the crowd & came over and called him by name. How on earth she spotted him, knew that it was him, and called him by name ... I'll never know. It was most impressive.

Back in January 2005, we took my then 8 y/o GD to WDW. One morning we had breakfast at CRT. This is back when it was the Fairy Godmother who did pictures and autographs downstairs. Anyway, my GD has a fairly unusual name (Aubriee, which is the screen name I use), she is very chatty and outgoing, and she had a t shirt stretched out on an embroidery frame she was using for autographs (which the Fairy Godmother thought was very clever). Anyway, for some reason my GD must have made an impression on her, because during the afternoon parade later that day while the Cinderella float was going by, the Fairy Godmother noticed my GD standing right behind the rope on the parade route and acted all excited to see her, calling out, "Oh Aubriee, my Aubriee, I'm so glad you were able to make it for our little parade. I so enjoyed visiting with you this morning." It was a magical moment for my GD. She was so excited that the Fairy Godmother recognized her. My son was impressed that with all the kids she had to have seen that morning at CRT, that she not only remembered my GD's face, but noticed her in the midst of a huge crowd and called her by name. I didn't have the heart to tell them that she probably remembered her because my GD is such a friendly little chatter box with a strange name. It was a neat experience though, having her name called out by a character during the middle of a parade with the Fairy Godmother acting so excited, like she and my GD were friends. My GD kept saying 'she remembered me, she remembered me, how did she remember me?'

Yes, we had a man on an ECV on our tour. At one point the guide put him in a very small elevator while the rest of use used the stairs, but we met him at the bottom. Otherwise he was with us the entire tour. This was back in May of 2005.

Can you book this with hotel cOncierge? I'm still debating because of the language barrier (my mom doesn't speak English) but I'd love to take this tour.

We did the tour this past Oct and LOVED it. Even my DH, who isn't Disney Crazy like I am, really enjoyed it. Our tour guide was fantastic - you could really tell he loved Disney and his job.

How long in advance you need to make the reservation for the tour? Is it too late if you wait until you're there? Thank you.
