Thought someone might know...
My space bar..if that's it's name lol..keeps getting stuck when I touch it it won't space the words apart and when it does...it jumps ahead more than the regular space, more like 4-5 spaces? Weird..any ideas what might be up or what I have accidently hit?

:confused3

Does it physically stay down? You may have some gunk in the switch. Turn the keyboard over and give it a good shake and a few gentle taps on the desk. If that doesn't work, you can carefully remove it by prying it up from both ends.

No-it doesn't
I thought of that--shook it and looked at all the buttons around it and nada?:confused3

The switch itself must be sticking...........Fortunately, keyboards are cheap.

You could try blasting it with an air duster.

If you have a desktop, why not just replace the keyboard? They're not expensive and, for the most part, they're pretty standard. If its a laptop, you've got more of a problem, since it isn't easy to replace...but, even with a laptop, you can usually plug in an external keyboard (USB) or put the laptop in a dock, then hook up an external keyboard to that.

Living with a stuck key is bad enough, but the spacebar key is a bad one to have go bad on you.

I know-I guess I will pick up another one. In fact-I think DH has some downstairs..he's always toying with computers. It's on my desktop-I am on my Laptop now.

Thanks for the help!:thumbsup2

I know how to take off the keys on my keyboard and put them back on. (You have to make sure to fit them back under the tabs at the top before pressing back down.) I had never used compressed air on my keyboard before. A couple weeks ago, I decided to take off the key tops of a couple keys that were sticking and I couldn't believe the amount of compressed lint gunked up under the keys!

I took a pin and little brush and ended up cleaning underneath all my keys. The lint was so compressed that there was no way a compressed air duster would have worked anymore. I ended up with quite a lint pile.

It also solved another problem I had been having. My fan kept turning on & staying on. It seemed to be in overdriver. Once I cleaned the lint, the fan is working back to normal. I guess all that lint underneath was acting like extra heat insulation. :(

Try taking the keytop off. Make sure you watch HOW it pulls up & off because you have to put it back on in reverse. There maybe a crumb stuck underneath or the little rubber gasket underneath just needs to be de-linted and pushed down a few times so it's pressing down flexibly again. It's an easier & cheaper fix that replacing the whole keyboard, if it works. And if you can't get the top back on, at least you have other keyboards.
