Can someone tell me how far the walk is to the trolley from the ship in Key West. If we bought passes and wanted to get around on the trolley, how many stops are there and are some more worthwhile for tourists than others? Will the wait be long to reboard? I know Shirley is the onboard expert of Key West...so Shirley my email is Kay1112544@aol.com, if you can offer any insight.

Thanks.....CKay

WHEN WE DID THE TROLLEY 2 WEEKS AGO THE WALK WAS ABOUT 2 BLOOKS TO WHERE YOU GOT ON. THE GUIDE WE HAD WAS WONDERFUL. AS FAR AND GETTING OFF WE DIDN'T SEE ANY SPOTS TO DO THIS. I'M NOT SURE IF THE TRAM WILL LET YOU OFF AT DIFFERNT SPOTS OR NOT BUT WE HAD OUR CHOICE OF THE TRAM OR TROLLEY AND AS IT LOOKED LIKE RAIN THAT DAY WE TOOK THE TROLLEY AND HAD A WONDERFUL AND INFORMATIVE RIDE THROUGH KEY WEST.:smooth:

Patches,

Do you remeber the cost for the trolley? We are two adults and two kids.

Thx,
Ckay

Ckay,
We did the trolley last Monday (heavy sigh). There are approximately 7 potential stops (we choose 4) along the way. You will recieve a map with details about what is available to tour at each stop.
The train does not allow for stops, so be careful when you arrive in Key West and do not board the wrong vehicle (both modes are clearly marked and have separate ticket booths).
Have a wonderful time,
Dawn Hope
The cost was $20 per adult (children 3 and under were free)

We were on the Jan.4-11 Magic and we did the Old Town Trolley on our own not as a DCL excursion. It was $50.00 for 2 adults and 1 child (sorry I don't know what the break down was per adult and child). I just pulled out my brochure and there are 9 stops that the trolley makes and you can get on and off as often as you'd like. We didn't get off at all this time because we have been to Key West before and done this before and we had a great driver that we were enjoying listening to so much we just stayed on for the whole loop. After we got off the trolley we walked back to the Magic and got some burgers and pizza for lunch and then DD wanted to stay on the Magic so DH got off by ourselves and walked back to Duval St. and did some shopping. When we were to Key West 4 years ago and we rode the trolley we got off at most of the stops and looked around in the area and then got back on. There are lots of interesting things and the architecture of many of the homes is beautiful! If you have any more questions I'll try and answer.

On the brochure I have there is a website listed, maybe that would give more info also. It is www.trolleytours.com

THAT'S THE SAME ONE WE TOOK, BUT MUST HAVE BEEN HAVING SO MUCH FUN LISTENING TO THE GUIDE THAT WE FORGOT ALL ABOUT GETTING OFF AND BACK ON. DID THE LOOP TOO AND THEN WENT TO DUVAL ST. LIKE YOU, HAD FUN LOOKING IN ALL THE SHOPS.:p

Thanks Cheryl, for the Key west trolley info.

www.trolleytours.com

Note you get at $20 rate instead of $22 on ship, AND if you book on line you get another 10% more off.
(kids 3-12 are $11 on ship, $10 from co. and $9 on-line)

You can get on/off the trolley.

Any one else have this driver?

Driver: (montone voice): "Right here is the Yellow bouganvilla (sp?), and over thar is the Red Bouganvilla, and on past that historical looking building is the less common Yellow & Red Bouganvilla."

We got off at the potty stop and headed for the ship! $60 and a couple hours of my life I can't get back!:p

I am sure you will have a better time and have a great cruise!

Thanks all for the informative replies. If we just wanted to walk around is there enough to keep us busy within walking distance of the ship...and doesn't the Magic dock near Mallory square?
