Ok, now I'm really confused..... are the train and trolley tours $22.00 or $75.00??? one navigator shows it as $22.00, but Laughinhouse.com shows it as $75.00....That's A LOT of money for 1.5 hour tour...

One more question.... which one is better? Train or Trolley... any difference? Which one do most people prefer?? I lied--two questions~~~ should I reserve this through Disney or can I just go to the train/trolley desk/station???

I still have quite awhile to plan, but just want to check off one more thing on my list.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Hello!
I did the tour during the 1/4 cruise. It was $22 through Disney (for adults). I did the train, but our tablemate Dawn and her daughters did the trolley. Comparing notes, it sounded like the main difference between the two is the trolley will actually stop and let you off at certain points (like the southernmost point of the US), but the train keeps moving the entire time (albeit sometimes very slowly). In fact, the tour guide mentioned several times she's not allowed to stop for any reason- one man tried to get her to stop so his daughter could go to the restroom to no avail, luckily the tour was almost over at that point. Also, the train is more open to the elements so if it was raining or very windy it might be more uncomfortable. You can choose which one you want to ride in when you get there, so you don't have to make a definite decision ahead of time.
Have a great trip!

the trolley sounds like what I want. I'll have to get some more info on it... Did they say they just caught the next trolley coming along, or did the trolley actually stop and wait while they got off.

I'm like that daughter on the train ~~ when I have to go, I have to go, no if's and's about it...

I thought $75 was an awful lot of money compared to what I had seen in the navigators.

Thanks for your help.

Here is a link to the Key West train/trolley website. You can save 10% by purchasing tickets online. We have the Trolley here in San Diego. It's a nice way to tour the city, get off and enjoy an area and then get back on again to see more sights. The trolley usually makes its stops every 30 minutes.

We took the trolley, although no one actually got on and off. We went down some very tight streets and had heard that the train couldn't go down those blocks because they couldn't make the turns. Not sure if it is true, but we enjoyed the tour.

Hello everyone,
The conch train is very informative on the history of Key West and they do go by some of the most interesting parts of Key West - it is true they will not stop simply due to the high insurance cost - the conch train has been around forever or so it seems - The trolley has the advantage of being "under cover" when there is bad weather and it does allow you to get off anywhere and get back on at your leisure - I have tried both - being a native "conch", I prefer the conch train just to see what is being said about the history of Key West and to go and see all the things I remember as a child of yore - I believe with children the trolley is more fesiable -
Anyhow if I can help with questions about Key West, please feel free to write me.
Always
Shirley
