My DB (brother) is going on a cruise next weekend (not DCL) and he really wants to do deep sea fishing-being from Indiana we really don't get the chance to do that:D , he was wondering if he should do it in Key West or Nassau, and maybe the cost and the best place that offers it. Hopefully someone will have some advise I can tell him. Also, what about renting a car in Key West and driving around teh keys a bit for the day? Anyone do this? Thanks:bounce:

Good morning
This is Shirley from The Perfect Gift and a 4 generation conch from Key West - Now as for the fishing - at one time Key West biggest asset was fishing in the keys water, but now unfortunalty our waters are so fished out and what isn't is under very strick protection and if not that it is something else that I do not know for sure how good the fishing is now down there - Now I know there are some great fishing boats on Roosevelt Blvd for all types of fishing and all types of cost - half day to whole day etc - I will get you some information on it today and post it - also the only rental of cars is at the airport - I use Budget when I go down there due to the cost factor is better -
If I can help in anyway, just drop me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com
Always
Shirley

I looked into the self same thing.

I found the following head/party boat site that looks pretty good and fits the Key west docking times:

of course, theriis the castaway key excursion that is supposed to be good, as well.
