Key West Glass bottom boat ??

Have anyone done the Pride of Key West Glass Bottom boat excursion? The family would like to do this and would like to know some details.

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We did the glass bottom boat on our 1st Western cruise.
Would not do it-- if had to do all over.
So many children couldn't get close enough to the glass to see through and enjoy the experience a.k.a. packed like sardines!
Water was very rough if standing outside on the decks.
I took our camcorder and almost ruined it because of the sea spray on the bow of the boat. Could not use the camcorder for rest of the cruise.

Hi this is Shirley and an ol' conch - going to Key West the end of april and will try to check to see if there are any new glass bottom boats - if not, go see Shelly at Key Kat right there at Mallory Square - not only is she honest and fair, but will give up heads up (or down) on different entertainments down there - the best part if you mentioned that I suggested her, she will give you conch rates and no there isn't anything in it for me --

We stayed in Key West for a week last year and went on the Pride....there was hardly anyone on the sailing as it was on overcast day - so we did have an up front view but if I had to do it over again I wouldn't.....

the water was murky and we were on the forst sailing of the day....we could see some fish but not a whole lot.....if you have ever done a glass bottom boat anywhere else - it isn't much different.

Thanks for you response. Have to re-think about this excursion. We may wait until we get there and see and talk to Shelly and also the weather and crowd. Or we may jsut find something else to do.
