I know a while back someone had written about the Key West port possibly being closed sometime in June. Has anyone else heard recently?
Thanks,

It is going to be close for our 11/20/04 Thanksgiving sailing due to an offshore boat race. Same as last year....that just means 2 days at CC for us.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I am so excited to have TWO days at CC!!!!

Yipeee!!!:bounce:

I was torn about this....I hear so many great things about Castaway Cay but we are also going on the 14 day May cruise, and will see CC again then. I can't say I'm not somewhat disappointed to miss Key West! I looked up various cruises that go there, so I might see it someday (doubt we'd do the exact Western cruise again just for Key West--I'd do the eastern next), but not a lot of cruise lines seemed to go there. Can't believe it's our November cruise (the only one!) that Key West is omitted!!

Some of the ships are having to tender in due to the closure of one of the piers. It's under construction by the Navy, but there are two other piers that ships are able to use, as well as tendering if the other two piers are full. HTH

My neighbors are going on Carnival in July and they were called and told that their ship wouldn't be stopping in Key West since the place they docked was being worked on for a few months.

We were just on the May 8th cruise. The night before at the Radisson I was talking to some folks that were cruising on Carnival the same day. They asked if we were still stopping in Key West since they were told that they would not be stopping there now due to a closed pier and would stop at some other island, can't remember what though..Sure enough, no Carnival ship showed up to Key West....but we docked right by the town.

We loved Key West and actually were bored on CC. We loved KW so much that when we got home, we booked a house to rent for a week in October right in old town. LOVED Key West. What a great time it was and we will go back again after October I'm sure! It's one of the reasons we chose the Magic. If I were told that my cruise was switched, I would have been very dissapointed (Unless of course I could have had my cabana massage BOTH days on CC).

Man - I would trade Key West for 2 days on CC anyday!

After being in Key West I would too!! I picked the western so we could go to Key West but once we got there we were very disappointed and wouldn't care if we skipped it for 2 days at castaway cay! We loved Castaway Cay but there wasn't enough time to do all the things we wanted to. We got off the ship right away, found a spot then went swimming for awhile, made sand castles and swam again, then it was time for lunch, swam some more then it was time for the banana boat and after that there wasn't time left to do the jet ski tour so I would want to do that the next time we go! There wasn't even a really nice beach to go to in Key West, the trolley driver said the public ones are not so great.
