Key Lime at Sunshine Seasons Downsized!

Hi All! I just got back from a trip to the world, and my favorite key lime pie/mousse tarte at Sunshine Seasons have shrunk! It is noticeably smaller, perhaps 35% smaller! When I walked up to the counter I knew it was smaller. All other desserts are still the same size, I think. I asked the person behind the counter why they made it smaller, and she replied that "It was a decision that had to be made". Perhaps they think people wouldn't notice? It was also the same price as before.

Also, FYI: The key lime pie at Flame Tree is no longer there, it is now a key lime mousse in a cup. Pretty good, but not as good as the actual pie.

As you can tell I love key lime!

So sad!!!! We arrive on 9/24 Key Lime was the first food on my list. So many things are changing. Maybe I will find a new favorite.

I noticed the ones at Wolfgang Puck seem to have shrunk as well. Maybe it's the price of Key Limes?

I couldn't believe how huge the key lime pie was at SS. Maybe they noticed that large amounts were being thrown away, but more than likely they're trying to save some $$$

The strawberry shortcake is a pitiful shadow of its former self.
And I did not see the Butterfinger cake when I was there, but cannot verify it is gone. May have just been out of it.

The chocolate cake was also noticeably smaller when we ate at Sunshine Seasons on 8/15. Both DH and I noticed it immediately. Bummer.

NOO! definitely NOT that size. I actually took a pic, let me see if I can post it here.. I might not be able to since I "lurk" and not really post much.. but i just HAD to share this!

Edit- I just looked at my key lime pics and it was small when i got it too but I didn't realize! That was in June too.

Oh my gosh, I'm so glad someone noticed this... I thought it looked small when I got one last weekend, and the bakery girl and the cashier both were like, ummm, I just got here, I don't know how big they used to be! LOL... thought I was crazy!

As soon as I walked up to the display fridge, I knew it was smaller. My first thought was maybe they downsized it because it was a snack credit... but it always was!

Kind of a bummer that it shrunk.... but as a solo traveller it was a lot to eat by myself. Sometimes I would want one but not want to waste any but it would be too much to eat.

Still, They could have lowered price

My family will be upset/saddened by this news. DH loves the Key Lime Pie and DD and I like sharing the Strawberry Shortcake.

We just introduced DH's extended family to this wonderful gem of a counter service restaurant and it is at the top of their list to go back. Hopefully they don't notice how much smaller the portions are and they don't keep shrinking.

As long as they taste the same, I guess we will have to be happy with that.

I am very sad about this too. I am dreading the day that the Key Lime Pie at the Grand Floridian Cafe is no longer available. If they downsize the pieces there, I will have to buy a whole pie.
